As little regard as I have for liberals or their beliefs and opinions at this point in my life, it still produces this little pang of irritation to know that the democrats are basically going to do everything wrong in their campaign, self-sabotage to the highest degree, and then libshits will still just get mad at voters -- and especially arab-americans -- for not just falling in line for a party that backs a genocide and essentially tells the voters to suck their balls.

When you get blamed you should own it to really get their piss boiling. They want you to feel ashamed for not doing the responsible adult thing and voting for austerity and genocide. Laugh in their faces and tell them that you'll fucking do it again if they don't make it worth your while. Tell them that the Dems have affordable access to your vote.

The ICJ has completely dismissed the right of Israel to defend itself during the preliminary ruling in the case of of genocide against Israel.

By the West's own rules based international order, Israel does not have a right to defend itself within the territories of Gaza or the West Bank. The Biden administration is going directly against the ruling of the ICJ with statements like this, as well as blatantly lying about the facts of the matter. As to be expected, of course, this administration is complicit in this genocide, after all.

In finding there is a plausible case against Israel, the International Court of Justice treated with contempt the argument from Israel that the case should be dismissed as it is exercising its right of self-defence. This argument took up over half of Israel’s pleadings. Not only did the court find there is a plausible case of genocide, the court only mentioned self-defence once in its interim ruling – and that was merely to note that Israel had claimed it.

That the ICJ has not affirmed Israel’s right to self-defence is perhaps the most important point in this interim order. It is the dog that did not bark. The argument which every western leader has been using is spurned by the ICJ.

Now the ICJ did not repeat that an occupying power has no right of self-defence. It did not need to. It simply ignored Israel’s specious assertion.

This coupled with the 2 Muslim women being thrown out of Kamala's rally for no reason (read: wearing Hijabs) the other day, I don't think they're even trying to hide it.

Seriously, is this meant to be some kind of pivot into overt Islamophobia, to make sure Trump can't monopolize that position? I'm European and this gives me flashbacks to when our succdem parties started to get "tough (i.e: racist) on immigration".

What really speaks to the US government’s total lack of legitimacy is that not only is Biden going to tell these voters that he’s not going to change policy on Israel under any circumstances, he’s also not going to offer them anything else.

Wrong. Zionists who start a small business in Gaza will have their student loans forgiven. This will bring innovation to the Palestinians.

Why are they going this far to the mat on their messaging and optics about this?

Obviously the US is always going to support its #1 vassal in the region. Its actions will always be to support Isreal in ots canpaign of apartheid and genocide. That's what they've been doing for decades.

But usually they play this game of looking like they almost kind of care about Palestinians. Not in a material way, but just in messaging and optics. Like what's to be lost in not going full ghoul just in a press conference?

I'm glad their message is matching their actions for once so it can radicalize some people on this, i just don't get what's in it for them?

I made a similar comment about 30m in this thread.

...Pretending is most of dem messaging. It's a weird level of arrogance and laziness for the people in his administration. It's even more true for her because it's her official job to lie and spin to the media. On top of all of that it's an election year and even worse it's a dicey one for them. Every iota of good will is needed. Yet the Biden administration is acting like Biden is up double digits in the polls and they're sloppy and lazy because of it.

      I don't get it.

If you watch the video, it’s some wishy washy nonsense about how “the president is heartbroken about the suffering of innocent Palestinians” and the “conflict” is tragic. They’re not going full ghoul.

Maybe that's it. They don't get why people aren't buying their bullshit anymore. Corporate media doesn't have full control over the narative anymore. Plus, admins and media are just worse at doing what they used to do because its all fail children who don't even understand how to do this anymore

I don't get why they don't just pretend they are going to talk to Israel and tell them to ease off and then not do anything. This is all that is needed to get the average lib's interest to fizzle away. The king of England paid lip service before Christmas and my older Muslim family members were so happy that he was speaking truth to power yea

iirc Biden’s margin in Michigan in 2020 was smaller than the number of Muslim voters that voted for him. By alienating a single demographic, he’ll lose the state.

If he loses the election, it will have been entirely an unforced error on his part. Of course Democrats will never acknowledge that though.

He won by 150,000 votes, and Michigan has ~240,000 Muslims that can legally vote. A lot of them probably won't vote, just like how most people won't vote in general, but according to polls 83% percent of them voted for Biden (64% nationally, interestingly, but it was different groups doing the polling). If he lost the Muslim vote, he would have to have every other demographic stay at the same level of support as 2020 to pull a win, but support for Biden is pretty low in general.

Hilary arguably lost because of her dumbass not campaigning places she should have (beyond the whole 'being a narcissistic natsec ghoul and husk of a human being')

It really was a catch 22 for Hillary.

Not campaigning in a state makes it pretty obvious you don't give a shit.

Unfortunately every time she did campaign somewhere, or do anything really, her poll numbers went down.

I feel like people don't fully remeber or appreciate the fact her strategy for the last 3 months of the election was for her staff to lock her in a basement so she stopped pissing off potential voters.
