If bombing a country is bad and warrants a rigidly aggressive response, perhaps Ukraine shouldn't have been bombing the Donbas :thinkin-lenin:

For any civilian the prosses of being blown up is a very radicalising event converting them into an enemy combatant in the moment before death.

Ukraine has been shelling the region and also sending recon squads into nearby Russian soil since March 2014. Ukraine has also been shelling Luhansk.

I wonder what the difference is in LGBT rights is between the LPR/DPR and the rest of Ukraine. I've heard people say that they're functionally non-existent outside of Kiev because the local cops won't lift a finger to help you if you're being assaulted by a right wing mob.

so i know quite a lot about this: eastern europe in general sucks for lgbt people but there are certain things our group would recommend to refugees as we helped them

ukraine was in general recommended to get out ASAP because youre gonna want to go to spain, netherlands, ireland, or scandinavia generally. spain and netherlands have the better refugee policies for lgbt people when i was working on it. kiev is considered worse than st petersburg, st petersburg is generally seen as the most lgbt friend city in eastern europe which isnt saying much but a lot of russians settle for it. sometimes we would recommend people in the far east of russia to go to china and settle in beijing or shanghai as there were visa tricks you could do for refugees

plenty of times we helped people settle down in prague which i was very useful for, it was easier for people to learn a new slavic language sometimes instead of english or german or whatever. there were companies that would take advantage of visa policies to get lgbt refugees in because legislation was lacking. i know those fleeing moldavia and romania prefer spain for instance. i dont really consider czechia to be 'eastern' we're weird though i know a lot of people consider it eastern and not central.

in general you should just NOT be in ukraine. active war zones means active lynchings and since its a war zone they will generally get away with killing you for fun and that happens a lot

sorry if this came across weird sounding i just got off a long call where i spoke czech for like 3 hours straight and im tired and my brain is weirded out by swapping languages lol

It didn't come off as weird, it was incredibly informative, and thanks for the work you did/do comrade.

    Link to the tweet

The funniest part to me is that the comments are mostly full of megalibs salivating about the thought of inflicting putlerian oppression on the bad mean republican voting states.

InnaSovsun even went "but Putin is literally Hitler! Surely you don't want those people to be deprived of basic human rights?!"

and the libs in the comments are going

    :yes-hahaha-yes-r:

       :biden-harbinger:

Newly manufactured war propaganda hatred fading away like mist under the burning noonday sun of older, more entrenched partisan culture war :vote: hatred.

Sask is weird. It's the historical heart of socialism in Canada, and yet, is so awful these days.

yeah, if like okinawa or hokkaido or literally any other prefecture wanted to secede they would have my full support completely unironically. like who gives a shit if my country's colour on the map is smaller or whatever so long as it improves the lives of actual people. :japan-cool:

I mean, if Quebec voted Oui back in 95 and Ottawa responded with eight years of shelling and terror before this hypothetical invasion, then yeah I'd feel pretty good about letting them go, you maniac
