Things I've learned so far:
-
the door handles are shitty and flimsy
-
the car sometimes doesn't go into park and will keep driving
-
they have a 'toy box' app including a whoopie cushion.
-
one of the settings for the whoopie cushion is, "I'm so Random!"
-
they are manufactured super quickly and sometimes are missing things as crucial as the charging kit
-
they come in at different charges
-
they come in on transport mode which limits the speed to 31 mph
-
they have an annoying ass UFO sound when you go in reverse, but are completely silent when they drive forward
-
they are just so plastic
toyota corolla interior at bmw prices yep it's :melon-musk: time
Is it unfair to liken the interior to that of a portapotty? I’ve never been in one, but all that plastic certain looks like I could legitimately take a shit in one
It's not quite that flimsy, but I'd take a shit in one if I wasn't half certain there are fecal scannings and biometrics to go with cameras recording me.
Pro tip: you can take a shit in any car if you hate the owner enough.
From what I've seen that statement is really unfair to the Corolla.
Pretty sure the corolla's interior is better made and more functional.
Doesn't Tesla have a huge charging network that others can't use, or has that changed?
Apparently they're opening it up to other EVs, according to Peelon. Not sure when but I believe he will be charging other manufacturers a handsome sum to keep his company floating.
Tesla stock closed at about $1100 today btw.
Very rational system.
The market can stay irrational longer than life can exist on this planet.
Given algorithmic trading and that stock markets probably have generators and diesel reserves to keep going for days or weeks without power, this is quite possible
Translate this to simplified Chinese, write it out on little scraps of paper, stash those in the car, wait for :reddit-logo: posts.
“Help, I am forced to work on these shitty cars while my government gives a trillion dollars a year to oligarchs for shitty weapons. I just want health care.”
It's funny but I've read that the Tesla factory in China has a really good reputation for QC.
No disrespect to any worker. I figured our comrade here is unloading the cars somewhere in the US. Even still, it’s not worth losing work you need.
To be fair, this runs against the motion that Musk didn't contribute anything to the car's design or UI.
Somebody ran over a pole because they had headphones in while parking it
Glad you caught that. They didn't hear the beeping on the console.
... Or look outside the windshield.
Some big company I don't know about is buying them and we're basically working as a paid parking lot.
No white people in sight anywhere lol.
Just means we gotta be careful about the auto driving cars not seeing us.
:scared:
We're living in times that were created for very specific purposes. We didn't accidentally wind up here
I hear if you try and unionize, Elon will personally come and kidnap you to the emerald mines. Is that true?
I'm gonna find out. I want to ask the drivers to officially work for Tesla if they have a union. I'll doxx myself if I see Musk coming towards me with a burlap sack.
Just hedging the question like, 'It's good to work there, right? So you got a union?,
In case you’re not meming, don’t use the U word and get in contact with a Union rep who can get you organizer training. The course I took was 12 hours spread across 2 weekends and it gave us a fighting chance.
If management sniffs the U word you can be canned, and more than that blacklisted cus you can be sure as shit they have a way to flag that in background checks, be safe comrade.
:this: especially if it’s a “right to work” state.
It’s also a race to see who can reach more employees first and better. Doing social mapping and initial one-on-ones after management’s sicked their middle manager dogs on everyone is real stressful work.
Hmmm. It is a right to work state. Oh well, I can use this time to do the reading and learn when best to agitate for unions.
Better to learn before you need to than after. I lost my first push, but if I’d been able to start even just a few months early at “full strength”, we’d have wiped the floor with those ghoulish fucks. Just a few less mistakes and a bit more time to work on some tough social leaders would have pushed us over. Having a party organized and waiting until the material conditions are right isn’t just for governmental revolution. My workplace was so fucking ripe and I sat on my ass looking for a new job for 2 months before I reached out to a rep.
It would really suck to become a "trouble maker" over a temp job. Like don't get me wrong hella respect if you are gonna do it, but it just seems like a bad idea to me.
That's good advice. I don't think many bazinga brains who unironically love Tesla would listen to a poc in a vest talk about the virtues of a union.
Rearranging deck chairs on the titanic -> rearranging the Teslas on climate-changed earth
Also they're way behind schedule for how many cars they're supposed to bring over.
:surprised-pika:
I have the same retirement plan, but don't underestimate society's resilience. People could literally be ascending to heaven and we'll still be expected to show up to work.
Getting a text from your boss like "I kno its ur day off but Hector got raptured, we need another person on food prep"
Edit: Now laughing my ass off at the image of the staff of a chain restaurant all ascending to heaven leaving behind the bewildered patrons howling for treats
Have you worked on Model X and how high is the failure rate for the latchless doors?
I don't have any x models to work with, but I don't trust the 3 model's door handles
