The type of people that regularly fly during the pandemic tend to have an overlap with the entitled anti-maskers.
what kind of job (or god forbid, hobby) requires someone to fly that much? unless your job is ON the plane ofc
One likely explanation for the spike in bad behavior is the rage, frustration, and stress coursing through society right now.
"People are mad because people are mad."
This person probably has a master's degree and was paid more to write this than I'll earn in a month. I hate The Atlantic so fucking much.
Bad behavior of all kinds —everything from rudeness and carelessness to physical violence—has increased, as the journalist Matt Yglesias pointed out in a Substack essay earlier this year.
maybe people are just tired of putting up with Matty's shit
critical support to the randos doing rudeness, carelessness and physical violence to matt yglesias
No, fuck that. Uncritical support to anyone doing a violence to that piece of shit.
its a dwarf fortress thing. when your fort is doing shitty dwarves starting flipping out and killing each other and going insane because of all the corpses and rotting food and stuff everywhere, which in turn makes more corpses and kills family members and makes more dwarves flip out. its worryingly realistic actually
your fort is doing shitty
Or sometimes when your fort is doing great, or sometimes for no obvious reason of any kind what so ever.
Damn I forgot about DF, did they ever get decent graphics? I tried to get into it but just couldn't with that MS DOS interface.
the steam release will be a better jumping in point whenever the fuck that comes out, it will ship with a better interface
https://store.steampowered.com/app/975370/Dwarf_Fortress/
there's been tilesets for ages
the interface is otherwise the same though
Cops didn't arrest because they're children, who when asked for accountability, just had a tantrum and said "we won't do anything then". They've been on a silent strike where they still get paid throughout the country.
Also a lot of them got got by covid and are no longer capable of hurting and oppressing the people. :corona: :officer-down:
They’ve been on a silent strike where they still get paid
Are they really? Hard to imagine them taking a break from harassing people
I lived in Minneapolis where George Floyd was killed. After a few weaks of brutality and repression the police just peaced out and refused to do their job for about six months to show the city government who was really in charge.
Antisocial behaviour is the behaviour encouraged by Liberalism(capitalism). People were asked to do the bare minimum to look out for others, wear a mask. And these chucklefucks are surprised that people reacted by acting antisocially? Journalists are useless ideologues.
The exponentially increasing growth charts for covid rates I've been seeing today are giving me palpitations.
Zero mentions of worsening material conditions for the vast majority, curious.
:cool-zone:
A slim majority are actually doing alright because of real estate/stocks, savings last year for the middle and upper classes was higher than during WWII, but everyone who has debts, lives paycheck to paycheck, or is on a fixed income is absolutely screwed.
Oh boy you think this is bad just wait till inflation outpaces wages big time and really tightens the thumbscrews.
Can't wait for the perfect storm of growing fascism, inflation, and food shortages. :sadness-abysmal:
Isn't it grand how the latter two basically ensures the first one? And that would be in a place where fascism wasn't already growing organically, as a part of an establishment political party.
The place I work isn't perfect, but has been pretty consistent about doing 3ish percent annual raises. First time in a long time I've seen my real income drop after getting my merit/col increase.
Jokerfied country :joker-dancing: :joker-dancing: :joker-dancing: :joker-dancing: :joker-shopping: :joker-gaming: :joker-dancing: :joker-dancing:
Crime rates have returned to the same level as existed a decade ago, this must be the end of the world!
They expect us to die quietly in a gutter without making a fuss. If anything we should thank them for it.
this made me laugh.
Regarding the people causing scenes, “I think those are assholes,” said Tom Insel, the former director of the National Institute of Mental Health and the author of Healing. “It’s so important to distinguish people who have a mental illness from people who just do egregious things.”
I see the lamestream media still refuses to acknowledge that we're in the beginning of a zombie movie.
