this woman is fucking based, i salute a hero for fucking with men :rosa-salute:

though i have had plenty of experiences where guys cuddled and were chill about it. but i do have a rigorous selection process, which almost all women develop as a defense mechanism

The bitmoji thing apparently has to do with people using blank Snapchat profiles for cheating and stuff.

      I don't use Snapchat so I don't know

Likes short women. :hyperflush: and short men. 'course I like tall women too. Or men. Or enbies.

      People are pretty :crush:

      CW: carnism

Oh and I probably am going hunting at some point because it's the only fucking reason most of my extant social circle finds acceptable to own guns and I want more of them to own guns. IDK why people can't be happy just shooting paper (or fascists)

in case it means anything, i think the woman in the OP is waaaaaay too picky and you're probably cool

Whether she's too picky depends on what "red flag" means imo, like some people use it to mean caution and some people use it to mean instant non starter.

Of course if it's the latter that's still totally within her rights, just outside the norm.

i think "too picky" shouldn't be taken as a moral criticism, honestly. They're definitely within their rights to be as picky as they want. The only issue is that they might make themselves miserable in the process.

I was kinda generous with what I felt was the spirit of the red flags, like I think not having Snapchat shouldn't count for the Snapchat ones

Actually on that note maybe it's 3 because I get the impression that the "sorry" one is more about people who do so manipulatively whereas I do it out of habit

i honestly don't know what the difference is. thats probably a bad sign but yeah

i generally say it when i feel bad but i also say it when i don't know if i should feel bad or not. and then of course because my brain hates me sometimes i retroactively think i never actually felt sorry even though i did and i just stopped feeling sorry because someone forgave me a bit ago

i think a lot of her red flags are dumb but like, who cares? just don't date this woman. i don't understand why r*dditors are raging about it (note that i didnt actually read the r*ddit comments, im not going to subject myself to that)

They seem to be missing the point. A red flag is a warning sign right? It's not direct attack. The outrage over 'can't even like football😂 ' are entirely misplaced.

Idk if I'm just fucking old but to me a "red flag" is something that's telling you that thr guy or gal is fucked and you need to consider bailing on the relationship. Shit that's indicators for an abusive personality or being unhinged.

I think there's probably a case to be made that calling everything a "red flag" devalues the term and makes tiny foibles way more dramatic than they ought to be. Like idk, maybe shit like not being able to take a selfie should not be in the same category as compulsive liar or chronic alcoholic.

I don't think there's a smarmy word for 'very vague warning sign' that's widely used. My friend group uses 'yellow flag' to mean basically what this woman means, which is something that is associated with shitty people, but isn't really a red flag in and of itself. Kind of just a 'hey, watch out for signs of the type of shitty behavior that can come with being a car guy' or whatever.

Or like, if someone's a GAMER, it might be fine, but if you hear them saying KEK and FREN, probably time to cut and run.

the fuck is this guy wven trying to say???? :agony-consuming: “reverse red flag” Huh??tf is going on with this guys thought process

I count 6 valid red flags on that list. The rest are her preferences or just outright ridiculous reverse red flags.

Buddy, you don't know what a red flag is. And "reverse red flags" aren't a thing. They're just your red flags. Which is fair, just don't go around acting like you're the arbiter of who is and isn't a creep.

Red flags are not "If this person does X, they're toxic as fuck." Even though some people interpret them that way. The way most people use the term means moreso, "A lot of people who share this characteristic tend to be toxic"

It's just part of being human. You make assumptions so you don't have to evaluate entire situations. Take for instance a forty year old man being friends with a 15 year old girl. That's a massive red flag most people can agree on, right? You'd probably avoid that man, or criticize him, right? Fairly normal behavior. For all you know, though, that could be her father or uncle or something. Some people would care enough to find out. Some people wouldn't.

I have a massive headache so I'm gonna cut this tangent off because i no longer know where I'm going with this. I probably answered you.

They aren't my red flags, they are the vast majorities. A reverse red flag is when expressing a belief that is fundamentally flawed shows the true character of a person and is therefore a red flag against them. For instance, it's perfectly acceptable to have a personal red flag against car guys or sports guys because of your previous experiences with a group, but if you dismiss every major male hobby as a red flag then it only shows that you are the problem. It's a reverse red flag because in attempting to express your dating/personal relationship limitations, you take it a step too far and paint yourself as the likely problem in all your interactions with said groups. So instead of being a way to determine if others are a problem, you reveal that you are the problem. Thus, reverse red flag.

      every major male hobby

the followijng items have been added to my list of red flags:

      • thinks gaming, killing animals, cars and sports are the entirity of "major male hobbies"

      • thinks there are "male hobbies"

      • uses "male / feeeeeemale" when they mean "masc / femme" (referring to humans as males / females instead of men / women was already on my list)
