I love how liberals did such a 180 on immigration once Biden was the figurehead overseeing it, instead of Trump "What? It's not 2018, we are not pretending to care about asylum seekers anymore." or "What, no the border wall was fascist when Trump was building it, now that Biden is building it, it is good and liberal. We need to keep our borders safe. We are not loony leftists that just want open borders and anarchy."

It's more of a 180 on rhetoric than action. Obummer was vicious to migrants, trying to win over the gop by displays of brutality. Or it was just Obama being Obama, i don't really have a good grasp of how self aware the man is or what his actual political goals ever were.

It's the same as with drone murders, we've seen a constant march towards more and more all-out barbarism over the last two decades and it's carried by an unquestionable bipartisan consensus. Exterminatory anti-immigration policy is now shaping up to develop in the same way, both in the US and the EU. Liberal policymakers know what kind of migration climate change will inevitably lead to in the next decades, and because they also know they won't do anything about the climate, that means they have completely fallen in line with the fascists on causing mass death at the borders.

          2022, a new European order
          Robot guards patrolling the border
Cybernetic dogs are getting closer and closer
          Armored cars and immigration officers

Whoa, I honestly had no idea what the lyrics to Fortress Europe were beyond, "Keeping banging on the walls...of FOR-TRESS EUROPE!" because that's probably all I could make out while playing Need for Speed: Underground as a kid.

We got a right, know the situation
            We're the children of globalization
            No borders, only true connection
Light the fuse of the insurrection
            This generation has no nation
Grass roots pressure the only solution
            We're sitting tight
            'Cause asylum is a right

            [...]

They got a right, listen not to the scaremonger
Who doesn't run when they're feel the hunger
From where to what to when to here to there
People caught up in red tape nightmare

Break out of the detention centers
Cut the wires and tear up the vouchers
People get ready it's time to wake up
Tear down the walls of Fortress Europe

I have said many times: the war in Ukraine has completely changed the immigration policy of the US.

By destroying Europe, Biden has achieved the white supremacist dream of a Fourth Reich that the Republicans could never do in decades.

The US is a country of immigrants and it will always be so. They are now setting the country up to receive an influx of (mostly) white Europeans over the next couple decades as people flee from rise of far right regimes and economic devastation, much like the early 20th century.

You know the right wing conspiracy about the “Great Replacement”? That might as well be real with what’s going on in the world right now, except it’s Europeans fleeing from a destabilizing region.

After the election and beyond into next year - why not?

If Biden wins - bang, bang. And there are lib op-eds discussing this "unfortunate situation".

If Trump wins - it's Biden doing the bang, bang in December and there are lib op-eds discussing this "unfortunate situation".

If Trump wins and he's been inaugurated - bang, bang. His base cheers. And libs are mad because it's unseemly to cheer murder.

What? International Law 100% acknowledges the right of countries to control their own borders. No nation is required to allow anyone into the country they don't want in there. There are a lot of dumb-bad reasons to shut down the border but "violating international law" isn't one of them.

Israel has been in violation of international law since its inception but liberals still go BUT KKKHAMMAAAAAAAAAAS so there is no law they aren't willing to break to increase suffering for everyone in the world outside the owning class.

Oh absolutely, but if you’re “exploring if you have the power” I assume that means looking at if it’s legal, which it is not. No more exploring needed.

If not genocide, what exactly are libs endorsing when they say they'll still vote for Biden at this point?

Any alien who is physically present in the United States or who arrives in the United States (whether or not at a designated port of arrival and including an alien who is brought to the United States after having been interdicted in international or United States waters), irrespective of such alien’s status, may apply for asylum in accordance with this section or, where applicable, section 1225(b) of this title.

literally US law, Title 8, Chapter 12, Subchapter 2, Part 1, Section 1158

Good to know that liberals are willing, as always, to violate the intent of the few good laws this shithole has in order to fuck over people, but we can't do anything when somebody farts in a legislative chamber too aggressively

Ed: I suppose I should have edited all instances of 'alien' to instead state 'migrant', in keeping with one of Biden's earliest EO's.

I would always walk liberals through the steps expressed on the USCIS website that deliberately instruct you that you can only claim asylum once you are WITHIN the U.S. and you have up to a year to claim it. What's happening is the people who entered the U.S. from a port of entry were being thrown in concentration camps and being rejected and deported based on interviews performed by border agents which seemingly violates this U.S. law and international law simultaneously. Obama, Trump, and Biden have cooperated over their terms to ensure that this process is as hard as possible and are encouraging illegal immigration.

Of course, that's trying to convince liberals of something using their own framework. If it were up to me the FBI and National Guard would be mowing these border pigs down and housing migrants and executing petty bourgeoise that hire immigrants under minimum wage biden-leftist

Does anybody else wonder if the writer got whiplash while writing this

Taking executive action on the border has been described internally as the nuclear option. But it's clearly still on the table.

While the number of migrant crossings has declined during the first part of the year, Biden officials know they have a political problem over the border and immigration.

"This border shit is hurting our political chances! We need to shut it down!"

    versus

For Democrats, there have been some warning signs that Biden is losing support with Latino voters.

In his first year in office, Biden held a 54-24 advantage over former President Trump, according to the latest Axios-Ipsos Latino Poll in partnership with Noticias Telemundo.

That 29-point margin has dropped to 9 points, with Biden leading Trump 41-32.

Other evidence suggests that Democrats aren't losing that much Latino support. Hispanic voters favor Democrats over Republicans 61-35, according to the latest Pew Research Center survey.

"This border shit is hurting our political chances! But not that bad and the other guys are obviously worse, so whatevs."

and then we have Darkest Brandon ...

"We're examining whether or not I have that power," Biden told Univision's Enrique Acevedo in an interview taped last week that aired Tuesday night.

"Some are suggesting that I should just go ahead and try it," Biden said. "And if I get shut down by the court, I get shut down by the court."

Biden was clear that he has not made a final decision, adding that there was "no guarantee" that he has the power to take action on the border without legislation from Congress.

    ... followed by ...

Biden used the interview to criticize Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's handling of the war in Gaza.

"I think what he's doing is a mistake," Biden said in the interview.

"I don't agree with his approach."

    ... Politest (poLightest?) Brandon

I just don't understand how you can type all that up and not question both your sanity and soul.

He’s gunning for the Republican donors.

In American electoralism, it’s all about how much campaign contributions you receive.

Even if you lose the election, so what? It’s better to lose the election but with a few dozens of rich donors giving you a steady stream of income because they like what you have to offer.
