There are thousands of little bougie careerists that want nothing more than to be in the Neoliberal Politics Industrial Complex. Whether it be working for the party itself, an NGO, a nonprofit, media etc. They're young and online just like us, except they're fucking awful and actually have access to power.

honestly sometimes i wish i could just be like them and not care about anything or anyone and only pursue money. but every time i try, i just can't do it. once you've opened your eyes, you can't really close them again. because even if you do, you still know what the truth is that you saw. you can't forget. in a way i wish i was like them. i wish i could be a woke liberal techbro who loves obama and thinks bernie is too radical. at least that way i'd live out the rest of my life ignorant of the the truth. i wouldn't have to constantly suffer the consequences of knowing the inevitability that awaits us in the form of rising fascism brought on by the climate apocalypse and deteriorating material conditions. the choice is socialism or barbarism and socialism seems too far and unreachable...

I tried for a while but when you don't have the privilege and connections they do, it sucks just as bad but you turn your anger inwards, blaming yourself for not achieving what you think you're supposed to.

Nah they're mostly just DC lanyards who are brainwashed into the system for the sake of their own careers and the occasional career oriented millennial whose only political goal is cheaper urban housing costs.

think anarchism (i.e. local, accountable self governance, the abolition of all unjust and arbitrary hierarchies, transparent governance etc) is a great political ideal to strive towards and literally necessary for a society to actually be “communist” (stateless, classless, etc), but I also understand that revolutions are subject to material reality and you can’t exactly survive against external military pressure and clandestine bullshit like the CIA without at the very least some measure of ML style central leadership. Thinking you can have a successful decentralized/anarchist revolution is like believing you can win a poker tournament with all your cards on the table.

This is pretty much what Rojava is, it's a shame more people on the left don't pay closer attention to what is going over there and the structures they've built. Too much attention has been paid to the YPG/J and the fight against ISIS but not enough to the actual revolution and governance of the region.

They lost two cities and the strip of land between them to the last Turkish invasion but things are somewhat calm right now and they're still holding on and doing what they can to rebuild.

They're relying on both Russia and the US for protection from Turkey and are hoping to work out some sort of deal with the Syrian government in the future that would let them keep their autonomy.

The inability for the smooth brains on that subreddit to understand a joke is astounding.

I feel like even the oblivious cumstains on /r/neoliberal would get that Virgil identifying as an "anarchist tankie" was a joke.

The mask is fully off. Imagine that.

The Press Secretary of a major presidential campaign joining arms with a self professed anarchist tankie.

And they wonder why they lost.

Can't remember the name of the US ML party, but it was pretty active in the 80s-90s doing work in South America. When the USSR fell, they had to rethink their Revolutionary theory, and they concluded that a Vanguard Party was still necessary to lead the masses, but after the revolution, the Party needs to be abolished immediately, so yeah Anarcho-Tankyism is a thing lol

I got into a heated one the other day with a so-called SocDem that kept dunking on liberals

When I told him I was an ex-leftist that stanned Bernie hard but shifted towards moderate because I got tired of getting stepped on by tankie jackboots he just claimed "we're not all tankies"

Then he went on to accuse me of regressing for becoming a liberal, called me Blue MAGA, and devolved into calling Biden a senile rapist when I dismantled his arguments against him

Gee, for someone that's not a tankie and insists you hate them, you sure do love throwing around their lingo and talking points Mr SocDem

So apparently dunking on libs and calling Biden a senile rapist is something you can only do as a tankie.

Anyone got any recs on where to start reading Stalin?

These people with broken political barometers who think everything is tankie are just like the chuds who think everything is antifa cultural Marxism. In both cases, they're completely unprepared to meet a real one.

Forgive my ignorance of how patreon works, but how easy is it for just anyone to give money on patreon? Could money come from, say, a GRU agent setting up a paypal account and nobody would know any different?

    lmao

It's amazing Twitter doesn't do shit to ban people with like 150,000 followers that just sit around spewing tankie propaganda all day and is even willing to verify them

    lol chapo being tankie.
