Remember that photo of her going into a fairly nice and well equipped small apartment like it was a dickensian garrett?

I just spent way too much time staring at this. It’s kind of perfect. Is that actually Chelsea in the front too?

    She’s so weird lol

It’s funny how Kamala shares a similar affect, just these weird dopey facial expressions. I think maybe it’s that they make a conscious effort not to frown which tips them into the uncanny valley

it's definitely some kind of overcompensation. like i know people who do public speaking that are cruel, abusive, transactional psychos in private conversations, but have a different personality for public appearances. i think a lot of people have public/private faces, but these people who are clearly awful in private have to work a lot harder to keep that below the surface and end up showing mostly non-reactive faces. so they practice smiles, which are fine for photos but you can't hold a practiced smile IRL. it looks nuts. so the closest positive action is a "laugh" which tends to reduce tension. i'm sure someone said once that they have a nice laugh when they were legitimately laughing at something. so that becomes the practiced action/affectation.

you may notice a lot of politicians have a little laugh or chuckle they use when confronted publicly. if done right it buys time and can project confidence without being smug. it might even reduce tension in others present, though probably not for the one confronting them.

kamala and clinton are clearly off the rails with it, probably because they have internalized some criticism of their private manner stacked on top of the typical shit where women in leadership positions have a different set of rules for their persona, so they may not feel they can "get away with" doing exactly what men in leadership positions do.

so they have these overblown laughs they trot out routinely. using it so much, letting it go on too long, and in these situations where it sort of doesn't seem to fit--not to mention, being at all familiar with these peoples' inhumane cruelty and more inclined to scrutinize them--it's super disturbing. like that scene in Love Liza where PSH's character (massively depressed after his wife's suicide, but trying to be normal at work) would just laugh and laugh and laugh at shitty work stories. i think in that scene, the last person left is a new employee who doesn't know he's under extreme duress. everybody else is like, "fuck this, i'm out."

Reagan was charismatic, right? Could you fit him into this paradigm? Do you think he was pleasant in private? Harris could NEVER be giving a speech, hear a pop, and go, "missed me"

i think he had a damaged brain and a pleasant countenance. he was just plain stupid and completely "handled" by the apparatus. a puppet who accepted the word of the people pulling his strings. i say all this and then remember his job before politics was literally being an actor, and not a good actor. more like one who had a look with a pleasant face and good height. his acting career was similar to someone who appeared in lots of hallmark movies, made cheap and released immediately for a fast buck. his other work was some sportscasting, hosting a sunday evening anthology, and motivational speaking for general electric. the guy was a wind up toy for corporate america his entire life.

he probably knew he wasn't "smart" and rather than fight it, just made little jokes between takes which transitioned well to those kind of moments during the theater of politicking.

i get the impression that harris believes she is pulling her own strings, which is not good for anybody, and that she assumes she is the smartest person in the room everywhere she goes. such people are dogshit at levity.

She'll keep the megar tax funding, but privatize it and instead of using the funds to maintain it they would go to shareholders.

Clearly Hillary Clinton is the hardest working one here which naturally means she should be paid more than everyone else combined.
