:shatter:

(i like how the article calls it "florida county" to ignore the fact that it's Robert E. Lee county)

This is dumb. Like, genuinely dumb. Like, so dumb I'm actually tired of having to consciously acknowledge the mass of people who, unironically, think this is a good thing. The same way I'm tired of constantly having to my make brain re-accept that flat-earthers are an unironic thing that exists.

    in other words, :manhattan:

California is :reddit-logo: , with its vast diversity from bootlicking :LIB: and techbro cultists around the Bay to literal KKK members in the Central Valley :fash-bash: to a sort of FloridaMan colony in SoCal :grillman:

Florida just leads the way. Libs across the country now are repeating what Floridans were saying 6 months into the pandemic.

:haram: The Kaaba has a stark beauty to it.

The Villages are sin and ugliness incarnate.

The US is full of that. America has a place called Wisconsin, and Wisconsin has a place called Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

Looking at my watch waiting for that catastrophic ice shelf collapse that will raise the global sea level a few meters and put Florida entirely underwater

Democrats vote that every American is allowed to kick Ron DeSantis in the balls once.

Groin region in general, as after a few pro soccer players get in there, he won’t have balls left to kick.

Btw Lee County is where Ft Myers is, I don’t even think they’ve really recovered from the hurricane last year.

And tbh they shouldn’t be allowed to recover Ft Myers should’ve been condemned.

They want this to go statewide? I thought it was only going to be within the county itself. Jesus. And people continue to flock to these states.

Cultural federalism baybeeeee. When your society can no longer agree on basic tenets of reality, may as well move to a place whose preferred version of reality aligns with your own.

it's a hack joke, but the place really has some kind of elephant graveyard aspect to it that brings in elderly people by the truck load. i could talk a lot about what effects that kind of internal migration has on a location, but it seems self-evident that demand for support services (medical, retail, food preparation, home care and the logistics of all 4) would increase.
