the vibes have rotten to the core and now withholding for Palestine makes you the much-maligned single issue voter, as if genocide is just a tally on a fucking pro/con balance sheet. People who saw the mass movement and protests on the ground over the past nine months suddenly concern-trolling about no one ever organizing anything and just being nihilists doing nothing while they are doing, in contrast, 'the bare minimum'. Breaking out reformist thought-terminating cliches and yelling at people with families in Palestine for not immediately being invested and engaged in the campaign of the VP of the current administration that is aiding and abetting the deaths of their loved ones. Total lanyard cultural victory. Americans by and large believe in nothing and have no principles, all they want is eternal 2014.

they've chosen to support the dems, full knowing that the litany of issues with them, and now they NEED to make sure you're willing to stoop to be in the in-group too because so long as I vote blue while you hold out, I'm going to feel like we're not both part of the correct in-group and that's scawy

the "single issue voter" accusation is easy to respond to, you just list all the awful shit Harris did in California and her clownshow of a 2020 primary campaign demonstrating her absolute lack of leadership and management qualifications. No single issues here, on every issue she is an evil nightmare

At this point I'm growing to hate liberals more than I hate conservatives. Conservatives openly embrace their evil and don't pretend to be anything else; Liberals pretend they're good people and get very upset when you point out that the things they support (cough cough, genocide) are evil, whereas conservatives say "hell yeah we love murdering {insert racial slur}" and then nobody minds when you throw rocks at them.

We've all read it but this MLK passage came to mind when I read your comment and vigorously agreed that I hate the American liberal's politics more than the American conservative's:

I must confess that over the past few years I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro’s great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen’s Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to “order” than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says: “I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action”; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man’s freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a “more convenient season.”

Malcolm X also has a good quote about this to and relates to what you said.

The white conservatives aren't friends of the Negro either, but they at least don't try to hide it. They are like wolves; they show their teeth in a snarl that keeps the Negro always aware of where he stands with them. But the white liberals are foxes, who also show their teeth to the Negro but pretend that they are smiling. The white liberals are more dangerous than the conservatives; they lure the Negro, and as the Negro runs from the growling wolf, he flees into the open jaws of the "smiling" fox.”

It's from Malcolm X's "God's Judgement of White America (The Chickens Come Home to Roost)" speech in 1963. It is hard to find, and like going to audio portions for it, I could only find one small audio snip it that speech. But here a few links to the transcribed speech.

              http://www.malcolm-x.org/speeches/spc_120463.htm

              https://www.icit-digital.org/articles/malcolm-x-on-god-s-judgement-of-white-america-december-4-1963

https://blackcommentator.com/278/278_malcolm_printer_friendly.html (This one leaves out the Nation of Islam stuff in the beginning of his speech and gets into like the general gist of the speech)

https://www.digitalhistory.uh.edu/disp_textbook.cfm?smtid=3&psid=3619 (this one just cites the malcolm-x org website, and they mistakenly link to the wrong speech)

For real. I can't even tell which side is more evil now. Maybe the nature and expression of their evil is slightly different, but it sums up to about the same magnitude of evil overall.

I tend to hate conservatives more than liberals, but most of the liberals I know are more the confused apolitical not fantastic politics but also not totally shitty people type. But then something like this happens and I'm exposed to the epic redditor or the back to brunch crowd and I remember just how absolutely insufferable liberals can be. Out of touch, pretentious, and so confidently wrong about everything. Can't these people get like one win without just turning into the most insufferable people on the planet?

I think what infuriates me the most is how they've just done an about face and closed ranks around her.

They were just about to feed Joe to the hyenas for being a senile monster, but I'm supposed to be cool with checks notes his vice president now? Just because she can speak intelligible english most of the time, and not look like my grandfather half a year before he completely succumbed to dementia?

We went from 98% Hitler v 99% Hitler to 95% Hitler v 99% Hitler, and they're just falling over each other to scramble back into the warm lake of urine that is the Democratic party.

    Nah.

Went from voting in the first black president to voting in a guy that believed black people aren't equal to whites and should be separated.

2020 all over again. The same people out in the streets that summer dipping their feet into actual radical politics closing ranks around Biden because mainstream media and a bunch of astroturfed tiktoks told them that he has the "most progressive platform of any US presidential candidate in history", then he'll (she'll) be elected and the liberals will all tearfully exclaim "I feel like we're finally a country again" and ignore anything that happens for the next 4 years until his (her) shittiness becomes unavoidable, then they'll just find some other ghoul from the ghoul factory to close ranks around.

The democrat party is doing what it's best at: luring popular movements in and killing them by smothering them in vague nebulous promises, the fulfilment of which somehow forever lies in the future, never in the present and for whom nobody bears responsibility for past betrayal.
