Why does he lust for Greenland? It is quite simple, Trump want to restore American as a manufacturing superpower but he knows that America is far behind China and needs a boost to get ahead. Who is even better at producing stuff than China? Santa Claus. By controlling Greenland and Santa's workshop, America will gain access to advanced elf technology and use it to usher in a new American century.

I could see Norway admitted as a single state with some clause to permit the split of two new states from it in the same way as the "New States of convenient size not exceeding four in number" thing when Texas was admitted. Canada, though? Suriname can certainly pull off having a single administrative division comprising well over half the country, but I'm not so sure about the USA...
