You match with someone then you try to start a convo and they just fucking don't even try lol. Then it just ends up you asking questions and them answering in the most terse manner possible that stops the convo dead on its tracks. Then you add something to spice things up a bit and they say something like "haha true" and then there's nothing more you can say so you just ask another question. It feels like I'm moving crates. How does anyone navigate this shit lmao

I hate Tinder so goddamn much. It's basically an incel-maker 5000. Proletarian dating app for the people when?

Speed run through that shit. If they can't hold a conversation drop them immediately. Once you actually get into a conversation, even if it's not a date it's fun. So you aren't wasting your time.

Stories like this are kinda cheesy, but it's like when a junior professional cook (I don't remember the official french names for this shit) complains to a more senior one that cutting up hundreds of vegetables is extremely boring and takes forever and they hate doing it. The older cook says "just do it faster then".

It's like that. Just do it faster.

Maybe they would be, except they are used by a total of 3 people in aggregate in my country.

Hinge is so bad, it's all straight white christian women who will match because I'm cute, but then call me a tr***y.

are they really though? i feel they might have been in the past but now they're basically just as popular so i don't see why they'd be different?

This is one of the reason I gave up on online dating. The other being that it feels like there are three super bland people in total there but somehow each having a thousand profiles.

Know what, new strategy, I'm gonna open with something fucking weird like "I'm watching a movie where some Argentinian guy with a moustache that looks like a mop is trying to burry the body of another Argentinian guy with a mop moustache, what are you doing?" and it's hopefully gonna be weird enough that they will either get confused into saying something interesting or they're gonna unmatch and I'll be spared.

i agree w ghosts. if someone is having a shitty convo with you just unmatch and try again. tinder is draining as you have to comb through a lot of people but you can have success

it's funny when you unmatch with that person after a lame convo but then later you end up meeting with her personally anyway because you have friens in common going out to the same places

      it's not weird at all

My problem is all the robust woodswomen that aren't chuddy don't have Tinder. ISO girls who know how to use an axe and want to use one to fell capitalism.

The first step is to delete Tinder and try Hinge and maybe Bumble instead.

    Tinder is the worst.

There's another app some people use here but from what I have heard it is even worse (significantly so).

why would hinge or bumble be different? they're basically just as popular now. like, whenever you see tumblr mentioned anywhere, you also see hinge and bumble. and maybe okcupid.

Because I’ve had success on Hinge and Bumble, but not Tinder ¯_(ツ)_/¯

The crowds using Hinge and Bumble are very different from the crowd using Tinder, at least in my experience. Especially Hinge.

Ask them an unusual but interesting question that requires some thought. I'm not letting you steal my normal question, but something like "If you were given $10 every day, but it would disappear at the end of the day so you can't save it, what would you do with it?"

I fucking hate dating/hook up apps. Writing a profile feels like I'm writing a resume, everytime I talk to someone it feels like a job interview. Everyone's bullshitting 'cause we've been conditioned to treat our insecurities/flaws like the fucking plague.
