Because the internet has shrunk dramatically, Chapo.chat occupies an incredibly disproportionate amount of psychic space

Facebook and Twitter are flat and narrow spaces, full of old ideas and meaningless opinions. Instagram is irrelevant to the discourse, and Reddit simply tails the above.

It’s only the novel posts that matter, these are the posts that drive history, everything else is a gagging Ouroboros and to question this idea is pure misology

Little bit late for Socialism or Barbarism.

Communism or Collapse is probably an easier sell, as we’ll soon be able to point demonstratively to collapse

This quote is optimistic. Barbarism was generally a workable and functional period of time in society. We had thousands of years of expertise on how to live wifh the land and manage resources.

What we'd end up with after a fall wouldn't be nearly so pretty.

yes, before normal indigenous people were absorbed into the death cult of production which socialists uphold. Very telling that these 1st world labor aristocrats put themselves opposite to the group of people outside the Roman empire.

Functional does not equal good, living in those societies still sucked majorly just like living in every other human society. At least the 'death cult of production' allows for relatively decent and more importantly independent lives for a lot of disabled people who wouldn't get that otherwise.

I mean, it depends on the sources you look at but hunter gather people are known to be healthier and happier than even middle agrarian people, and tend to take better care of the sick and elder than we do now today most places.

True enough the life could be brutal, so functional doesn't equate to good, but we aren't looking at getting either.

My conservative coworkers think I'm a moderate because I'm not RussiaGate-brained and I will talk Biden's obvious flaws. Does anyone else have this happen to them?

lol so Biden announced his stimulus plan and the dollar went up because of the bond yield spike

to those playing at home that means inflation, maybe a recession, and riots when people realize that even in bum fuck Ohio they can’t afford rent

it also means the dollar is probably dying so whatever

the us economy is in what economist consider a Wile E. Coyote State, in so much as the floor has completely collapsed but the economy hasn't realized it yet. Once it looks down, so to speak, the whole thing will fall down a canyon and go "poof"

How's that work? Is there a scenario where bond yield spikes and the dollar stays level?

Most consistently funny genre of Tweet is when cis people get offended at the term "cis" and think it's a slur and offer no alternative to what they'd rather be called

Some of the leftist response to the 'coup' (not here I think Im mostly talking about Twitter) has been extremely cringe. If your first thought to hearing that AOC was afraid for her life is some "Uh, nice try CONGRESSPERSON but actually its good that this happened and I wouldve just beat them all up" you desperately need a reality injection. You can both understand that this was an extremely vague, unorganized thrust at the capitol that had no real hope of challenging power centers, and that this was a mob of armed people constantly crowing for blood. You can support Force The Vote and recognize that a right wing mob murdering one of the three representatives that aligns with the left is bad.
