Even tho a democrat-controlled Congress could pass this day with a 50/50 Senate vote w Kamala as the tiebreaker. Dems love losing even when they win

Did you see that Harris did an interview with some media outlet in West Virginia without letting Manchin know first? And he was not exactly happy about it because she pointed out that WVians need relief?

      Are Dems:

      • actually trying to exert political pressure for something good (albeit inadequate), or,

      • trying to get Manchin to switch parties, thus losing their Senate majority and relieving them of the expectation of doing anything?

(Harris, it's worth noting, also did an interview with a local station in Arizona to pressure Sen. Kyrsten Sinema on the same bill, according to Punchbowl News.)

Probably the former. Kamala Harris might be a corporate loving opportunist, she is new blood into the party. The Dems know they have to give some concessions to the working class out of this or they'll lose their narrow grip on power.

I really doubt it, they don't care as much about losing power as losing donors

I mean, honestly, I think it's the first one. Obviously the Dems are bad and don't really want to do things but Manchin definitely is a PITA to them.

I'm glad that I've found a level of jaded that is too far for even this website.

The (very narrow) Biden win hid the fact that the Democrats DID get their asses handed to them at all levels other than the presidency in the most recent election.

One of my favorite parts of this site is seeing how users translate MSM headlines into what they really mean. Sometimes I get it immediately like this one, but its usually fun to guess what the real title is from the poster's title.

Everyone do me a favor and imagine that I typed the letter "A" 8000 times, followed by a single "H". Thank you. :desolate:

Critical support for moderate Republicans, who want to cut the $350 billion in extra funding for cops? Maybe not critical support. Maybe just
