Video games pretty much never translate well to other mediums, but I'm cautiously optimistic with TLoU series. At least it's something with a coherent plot and some depth. And not trying to jerryrig a plot around a assortment of random characters from an arcade fighting game.

naughty dog has made pretty cinematic games since uncharted, which was basically called a summer blockbuster in game form at the time it came out. What I mean to say is that if theres any developer whose games would have decent tv adaptations, its naughty dog

Gina Carano learns that the correct way to air your right-wing grievances is to do it through film like Clint Eastwood, instead of crying on Twitter.

Also, Holocaust comparisons? It's like she was trying to get kicked out of Hollywood.

Shame it wasn't her transphobic bullshit that got her axed but at least she's gone.

Jeez I had no idea wtf. Nothing of substance lost from the show then. Plus her character sucked

I think it was her first scene on season two, she was beating up some guys with terribly choreographed wrestling moves. It was the worst fight scene I can rember.

Kind of appropriate timing ngl, given that the USA's Senate was grilling Neera for the same shit today

I guess it doesn't make a lot of sense to have a fascist portraying one of the main characters on your show that's primary theme is about...checks notes....defeating fascism.

She's got a bright future ahead of her doing movies with PureFlix, or with the Daily Wire film company. If she's really lucky, she might actually make a good movie with S. Craig Zahler, though she's a much worse actor than anyone in his films, so who knows.

She's just a straight up fascist psycho. Not even the pretext of being a radical feminist.

Yeah not to be pedantic but I feel "TERF" defines someone who is not only vocally "feminist", but usually gives some bad faith "support" for trans people. Then you have straight up transphobes like pretty much every evangelical and/or reactionary I know IRL, who just straight up hate people and say the worst stuff imaginable about them.

Somewhat related, Pedro Pascal got the gig to play Joel in TLoU adaptation, along with the young woman who played Lyanna Mormont as Ellie. Can't remember the actress' name

Yup, as of a few hours ago.

Shame, I thought the rumor of Mahershala Ali was a much better choice, but I hope Pascal can pull it off.

That's awesome for the young actress. I thought she did a really good job on GoT and I'm glad that's being recognized.

any scene that featured her exclusively was always the low point of the episode. hopefully this means more rosario dawson, somehow.

I wasn't aware of any of that but apparently the guy dropped all charges of discrimination and misgendering and focused on an altercation between him and her mom. Given her history of support to LGBTQ causes, I lean towards this being something more complicated than anything I'd feel comfortable trying her in the court of public opinion over.

It's possible. But theres no evidence for it. All we know for sure is that her family gave him free housing for handiwork until his hours were cut and then this story happened. That doesn't really sound like the actions of a family who have it out for trans-people to me, but thats just my opinion. My thinking here is more in line with this quote from the article from a self described queer fan of the show:

I will always have some kind of reservation toward supporting someone who has had those kinds of allegations—just a little bit of hesitancy of not wanting to support someone who may have victimized someone. But if they’re part of an ensemble cast of something I already enjoy, I’m not going to initiate a boycott based on something that was thrown out of court and there’s absolutely nothing to point to here that says it’s a pattern. I feel bad for everyone involved. If it isn’t true, Rosario Dawson has been through all this hell for nothing. If it is true, what can we do about it now?

According to the story her family held him down and beat the shit out of him while yelling slurs.

I had no idea Gina Carano was a chud. I just know her from Red Alert 3 where she was a Soviet soldier with a giant sniper rifle. I'll make sure not to use her character in memes going forward.

Is it possible to retire from MMA, stay in the public image, and then not go off the wall or do something that completely exposes your smoothbrain to the world? Like just in the past few months ( especially since the capitol thing) I can name like 4 ex-fighters who've either gone full brainworms or have just generally lost it.

If football has a 100% CTE rate, i'm sure these MMA people got enough holes in their brain to keep spare change in.

There needs to be a disney land retirement community for athletes who wreck their brains in pursuit of a 4 year career where all the beer bottles are plastic and motorcycles are limited to 35mph.

Its not their fault they have holes in the brain, its the abusive system that made them believe "this is the one thing you're good at, its all you have, now go out and make me money"

Therefore the league owners should be forced to fully fund swiss brains super safe fun house, where all domestic partners have a life alert that calls nurses in through "legend of the hidden temple" esque hidden doors to just sedate the athlete and put on some espn commentary till they chill out.
