In a rare Oval Office speech, the president said, “We reject all forms of hate,” against Muslims, Jews and everyone, as he set the stage for a planned request to Congress for $14 billion in emergency assistance for Israel

Is funding genocide with billions not a form of hate?

90% of it disappears into random people’s pockets. 5% of it is used to sneak CIA pedophiles into the occupied territories to cause havoc. And maybe 5% goes to giving them water.

I'm sure they'll shuffle some money around on the back end and Israel will end up with $14B bonus bucks somehow.

But the money still ultimately needs to come from somewhere. And $14B isn't small change.

Currently, there's a real possibility that a bunch of Republicans walk out on Congress and leave Dems with a functional majority by quorum. In that case, Jefferies gets the Speakership and we can do all the awful shit Dems want to do while still insisting there aren't enough votes to do the good shit.

The emeny is weak and strong, shifting rhetorical framework, yadda yadda. The first twenty minutes after someone explains it, it feels like you're seeing the political world for the first time. For the next twenty years it's just unspeakably, depressingly banal.

Putin can control all elections, influence all world events, and kill anyone on a whim with the help of his shinigami eyes. But he’s also short and gay and has no money for a military and he’s also bald and loves trump (gay)

Nobody can contain the power of a baseball fan, or any sports fan really. If sports were played during work hours the economy will collapse in weeks.

A fight between baseball fans and football ultras would be the most one-sided battle in history even if the baseball fans were allowed to bring bats.

Dont know if you're talking gridiron or soccer, but football ultras in Europe are basically nazi idiots who go to the stadium to enjoy street fighting more than the sports, Yank fans seems very tame in comparison

When I was like in 5th grade, I was watching the nightly back to back episodes of the Simpsons. But then suddenly it just cuts to Obama walking down the aisle in his house and announcing the assassination of Osama bin Laden. I know what 9/11 was and who he was, but I literally did not give a fuck. This asshole ruined my episode. And by the time it went back to the show, it was over and the credits were rolling and the night time adult shows were airing.

The government has some mechanisms for taking control of radio and broadcast television. And there's that national alert system for sending push notifications to all phones. It's happened over the decades.

Biden's whole attempt to present himself as the modern reincarnation of FDR, with building up an "arsenal of democracy" for fucking Ukraine and the zionist entity, is laughable.

Also it's been a minute since i listened to him speak for more than ten seconds, has he gotten worse?

Nope, but there's a non-profit, the Commission on Presidential Debates that gets funding when they happen. The debates are like the two parties having a smooch with various media agencies. It's all theater to shuffle money around, there's nothing in the constitution that says debates need to happen.

There's also nothing in the constitution that says people directly vote for president. Senate is allowed to choose someone random if no one gets 50% of the electoral votes.

Back in the day the League of Women Voters put on the debates and if you wanted any credibility you had to show up. Then the parties were like "Wait, why are we letting an independent group write the questions? This isn't af ucking democracy!" and took control of the debates. Now it seems like htey're just doing away with the pretense all together.
