That's how they assign age to justify state violence. You're a boy, girl, or child when you're speaking up or daring to be a person of color, but once you get arrested, assaulted, or killed, it's young man/woman.

Unless, of course, you're someone like Kyle Rittenhouse.

"Military-age-teenager" being used domestically is happening within this decade, IMO.

It's just another way to portray them as an 'other'.

Not only do they commit crimes but their offspring are also unnaturally strong and tall.

They did that with Tamir Rice. Trying to portray him as some kind of 6'3" 12-year-old Übermensch. It's almost like they're trying to portray them as some kind of beast race that ages faster than humans.

The media Mainstream American society is known to strip away childhood from black people. Boys suddenly become teens and girls are seen as mature and authoritative.

        Fixed it for you. Unfortunately.

I’ve seen articles claiming that (presumably non-black) cops misage black people as older bc they appear older to them bc of lack of extended/sufficient contact with black people or something as justification for this shit.

Which.... they shouldn’t be fucking killing people regardless but god what a reach

Yeah, it's bullshit as a justification. I do think there's been studies that show white people specifically regard even black children as much older than they actually are.

I imagine that’s probably bc of how segregated most of American society is. Even in my city which is really diverse most people live in areas that are mostly one race or ethnicity or another

    Very reformable.

Police should have to wear shock collars remote controlled by public defenders, and only be able to carry a wiffle bat.

Police cannot be reformed as they are and always will be tools of the state. Organized worker militias with sergeants elected by neighborhood/worker councils are the only possible solution.

That's basically half of a proletarian revolution though, so we won't see it without lots more bloodshed.

They are trained to see everyone they interact with as a potential cop killer. I think it should be an automatic retirement from law enforcement if they fire their gun, even if it's in self defense (obviously there still needs to be an investigation and justice served). If you had to shoot to save your own life, you can enjoy the rest of it elsewhere. Obviously this sort of policy is idealsim (cause i feel like it) and would solve like 5% of the issues with policing anyway.

Be prepared for a lot to be made about how this kid was gangbanging, as if a 13 year old could ever understand the complete implications of that lifestyle. Never mind wondering why the fuck Chicago has countless young kids just like him killing each other on a nightly basis. It's always about how beautiful downtown and the surrounding areas are whenever you bring up this shit, instead of confronting the poisoned history of the city

So I’m not going to watch a child get murdered by the police but from all the comments I read on r/Chicago it sounds like the cops didn’t even allow him to drop the gun. They shouted “drop it” and “raise your hands” simultaneously. How can someone even respond to unclear orders like that?

This whole shooting reminds me of Beau’s video talking about his time training police. They used to train using “time, distance, cover”. Essentially if you’re responding to a potentially violent situation you give it time, the suspect distance, and take cover. But these fucking cops run in like they’re in a video game and kill everyone even someone who’s complying.

If you want to see a whole shitload of angles here's an alternative link although it looks like it's down from heavy traffic: https://www.chicagocopa.org/case/2021-1112/

Edit: Link seems to be stable now, when I was first looking at it I kept getting various errors. Also CW: it's various videos of a kid getting murdered by the police, it's rough. My apologies for not putting one earlier.

kid's hands were up and visible before the shot. defense lawyers are gonna say it happened too fast, but tbh the moment this pig rushed down that dim alleyway after a supposedly armed child he committed himself to possibly killing that child. the murder started way before the shot was fired. the streets were empty, there was no one to protect and serve except that kid he killed.

What the fuck. At 1:46 he gets out of the car and at 2:05 he shoots him. Less than 20 seconds to execute a kid.

Or when a man was lying face down, handcuffed, with a pig kneeling on his back, who then drew a gun and shot him?

Oh, he meant it to be a taser, supposedly....so he could tase a face-down prone and handcuffed man while kneeling on top of him.

No, they are more likely to murder you if they have a shaky excuse like your hand was a foot away from your waist, which will let them quench their bloodlust scot-free.

If you refuse to give them an excuse to kill you, they will 99 times out of 100 just stand there and freak out for a while, before actually walking over and grabbing your hands. The black troop in at the gas station did everything PERFECTLY. Absolutely PERFECTLY.
