The thought of being remembered for something so bland and boring is weirdly scary to me. Maybe Felix was on to something when he talked about how settler-colonialism hollows out your soul and kills any culture, creativity or national identity you might've otherwise had. thinky-felix

Dying from blood loss after a mortar shell I tried to fire at a pre-school hit a lamp post instead and blew off my leg: "Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift... that's why they call it present"

Why did the Palestinian cross the road?

      spoiler

He's not allowed to walk on that road because he's living under apartheid and he needs to take a detour to buy bread for his children.

The amount of times the "Ramirez, defend Burger Town!" scene has been unintentionally and un-ironically re-enacted by western militaries in the last 20 or so years really speaks to this I think.

edit:also found this when looking at the names of burger places in Israel, they really are that uninspired lol

      Ramirez, defend Burger Town!

TIL about this. Being a writer for COD has got to be one of least dignified jobs in the gaming industry.

I don't, sadly - I know Felix has mentioned how weirdly bland Israeli restaurant names are a couple of times, once on one of the recent episodes.

Honestly I fucking hate the fact that 20 year olds are sent to die for this shit they are far too fucking stupid and gullible. It's grooming.

I hate states. I hate militaries.

The only way to stop a bad state with a military is a good state with a military.

I don't think I can bring myself to refer to any of them as "good states". I can go to "somewhat better", but I want the future humanity builds to be stateless for a reason, states suck and all do really shit things just that some of them are controlled by the right people and some are controlled by the bougie pricks.

        What the actual fuck.

        I'm twenty.

I could never imagine myself in such a position right now, at this moment. I'm too young and stupid for this shit, and now I kinda know why she's dead.

How did Israel manage for decades to have everyone convinced they had one of the most capable and professional militaries on Earth? A 20 year old Major, that isn't even old enough for most people to have acquired a 4 year university degree. It's literally impossible to end up a Major at age 20 in pretty much every professional military on earth.

For fks sake, officers often are required to have a 4 year university degree to get their first commission and start out something equivalent to 2nd lieutenant. Even when there is a national draft and a military is filled with conscripts, you tend to see the enlisted have a bit of rank inflation but commissioned officers tend to be older due to the education requirements.

the idf treats rank like kids in a playground do
part of the reason they're so shit at being an army

"tell me major, how long have you been a soldier?"
      "about six months"

Don't worry comrade. In about 2 years when things finally pop off we will all have the rank of commander. Look into the military structure I'm Kurdistan. Because everyone is equal, the only rank is "commander."
