Biden getting annihilated among independents. It is interesting to think what team Biden will do if Dems get annihilated in the midterms. "Surely, we weren't right-wing enough"

JUST IN: A career-low 37% of Americans approve of Pres. Biden’s job performance, with 55% disapproving.

That includes just 30% approval among political independents and 10% from Republicans

They're not even trying. I wonder if there's any plan for a last-minute saving throw (such as student debt or weed) or are they just resigned to eating shit?

They think that doing that stuff is what lost them the election, while they actually have no plans or intentions to do it. It is this weird circle, where they don't even talk about doing left-wing stuff, but then they blame "doing too much left-wing stuff" for their loss, while their only achievement is passing an infrastructure bill that gives out more fossil fuel subsidies and privatizes parts of the infrastructure.

Yeah, I'm familiar with the Blue MAGA brainworms. I'm just thinking, in their position, they could possibly weigh that student debt or weed would be the most popular choices to win them goodwill and make the fewest enemies on the right. Unlike action on COVID, police, labor, education, etc. that everyone to the right of Bernie would hate.

But the assumption there is that they want to win, and I don't think they actually do.

No, they will go the other way. Not just letting the expanded child credit die and throwing ~10 million people off unemployment, but they will do some tax cuts for the rich or cut Social Security or something.

watch Biden withdraw the supreme court nominee. there's nothing forcing him to and no reason to think he would except that dems are constitutionally incapable of not conceding to the opposition.

At this point voting Trump is basically harm reduction, you just have to be willing to not delay the inevitable. (just grill, don't vote)

The beauty of my new outlook is that I don't have to know what any of that shit means. I just have to save up until i can move to the middle of nowhere.

that would take an organized drive to abstain from voting. no party has the politics and numbers to pull that off anytime in the near future.

I'm not gonna :vote: either way, but I get the perspective that Trump or one of his cronies being in charge could bring down the Empire faster.

america's not gonna collapse any time soon. the state is already almost completely eliminated except for its monopoly on violence, which is stronger than ever. this country has no civic institutions to destroy. only a shambolic flesh heap of corporate interests that will continue to squeeze the blood out of each atomized individual at home and abroad. they could just stop holding elections and nothing would significantly change.

GOP controlling Congress and WH again would be completely crazy. They would be doing insane shit to "prevent us from getting robbed again like in 2020" and Dems would probably never win again.

I honestly believe at this point that he'll bring down the empire by having it go the way of the soviet union. The American Federation that takes its place will be arguably worse but at least we'll have twenty years before the next nuclear crisis. I just want to grill.

there will be a war with a whole lot of sides if that happens. won't be a neat transition to another state.

I knew Biden would suck, but I did think he would be marginally better than Trump and was more worried about the backlash after Biden, and getting DeSantis or something like that. Instead Biden has been somehow EVEN WORSE than Trump in the moment, while also leading us to a worse future. Voting for Trump in 2020 was unironically harm reduction which is fucking insane.

there a tweet from april 2020 that applies here:

"the democrats ate shit in 2016, took a good hard look in the mirror, and said folks, we love shit, we love eating it, we love the taste of shit, let's eat shit until we die"
