Like... We've killed hundreds of thousands and destroyed an entire country, then we gave $4 billion to USAID for whatever, so we're good now!

Honestly it wouldn't even matter if every single penny of that aid money was spent on food, medicine, blankets and construction equipment cos the war has fucked damn near every single piece of infrastructure so it'd be damn near impossible to distribute it.

not original but you know how the US stabs a country to near death, and then gives them a band-aid and then are surprised they aren't eternally grateful for their humanitarism. With USAID, sometimes that bandaid comes with more infections.

      For Yemen: $4b in aid

Even then, it's just another attempt at propping up the Saudi backed Yemen state leadership. Just keeping the lights on in yet another brutal authoritarian dictatorship for the purposes of resource extraction.

Like sending $4B in food aid to the Nicaraguan nun-raping Contras or bailing out some US-backed oligarch's neighborhood in Libya or Iraq. Its free sandwiches for fascists and their associates, families, and friends.

Wow 4 billion WHOLE dollars?! That's CRAZY!!! What a HUGE amount of money for a country like the US to give over a period of 8 years! That's 4 whole arms deals to Saudi Arabia! What a generous nation.

Remember that Trump Orb photo he did in Saudi Arabia? That was to commemorate a $110 billion arms deal that had just gone through.

Anyone on :reddit-logo: that actually makes the effort to make a custom "Snoo" is probably a fucking creepy alien cartoon just like what is portrayed.

The toxic positivity subreddits are disturbing, the self-described "rationalist" subreddits are creepy, and the bullying/stalking drama/K*wiFarms-adjacent subreddits are psychopath lairs.

I did say "probably," not "certainly."

Though posting on :reddit-logo: is still :haram:

no, it doesn't. An oasis refers to an area where there is flowing fresh water in an otherwise arid environment. If you had that in the ocean it would just be a desalinated portion, which doesn't make sense. An oasis is an actual physical thing, not just a word for a nice place.

It just makes one for you when you make an acc now. I just pick the first one because it's always ugly and will probably annoy someone

In techbro hellworld, almost anything that is "free" means you're the product. The pushed engagement of shoving a "Snoo" at new accounts is gross to me.

We give money and resources to Ukraine too so by this logic no one should be mentioning it ever because it's taken care of. Weird how that's not what's happening...

    Literally just :both-sides:

Its fine to support the destruction of a country and its people if you sprinkle money into some godforsaken NGO or a literal government agency that trickles down 1% of the money into actual effective aid for those people.

USAID isn't even a charitable organization, people just think that because it has "AID" at the end. It's entirely a colonial tool meant to apply neoliberal shock therapy to countries that have been ground to dust by American bombs.

USAID, World Bank, IMF, Gates Foundation, Ford Foundation, Bosch Stiftung and others are all part of a single infrastructure dedicated to enacting a world order agreed upon in a New Hampshire hotel after WWII under the rhetoric of development.

This isn't a conspiracy theory, it is the conventional history.
