I wasted time looking through his reddit history. He's now in his early 40s or something. His older reddit comments (4-5 years ago) are exclusively bitter, downvoted/controversial ramblings about going to Burning Man. His top post is a Burning Man post that mentions that he's antisocial. Lots of old comments appreciating old cars and salt flat driving.
Then, out of nowhere, three years ago, he made a drunk post about mining dogecoin on a Raspberry Pi. Two years ago, he made a string of comments about a shooting in Portland that he witnessed. The rest needs to be spoilered.

Concerning the shooting he witnessed, he commented "tramatic? nah, not even... if that's all it takes to feel traumatized, your too weak to live really, KYS." A year ago, he commented that a person who got assaulted for asking people to wear a mask "Got what he fucking deserved." He also made a few comments on a very obscure music artist subreddit, and told a presumably trans person to "go dilate future 40 percenter."
His last comments, made Feb. 4, 2021, were on a video post of a neighbor dispute that ended in one neighbor murdering two other neighbors. The video shows the arguing and subsequent murdering. The future murderer commented that "hahahaha, two dipshits just learned why you don't talk shit. Not a shame that their lesson was short lived either. good riddence to bad rubbish. As the hero of this story says, should have kept their fuckin' mouth shut." and then also commented "fuck, whatever. People that just willingly disrespect the property of another, and then shit talk them after they have done so. Fuck 'em, got what they fucking deserved. The world is better off without their entitled fucking asses." and his final reddit comment was "have fun living a lifetime of letting yourself be abused."
What alarms me is how closely this guy matches the profile of a family member I have, the similarities are so eerie I cannot make a list of them without risking doxxing.

Eh they're kind of right. If the working class is armed then the arms should be controlled by working class organizations like the SRA or the Black Panthers. I'm skeptical of the call for each individual working class person to be armed. It seems like an uncritical mirroring of right wing worship of the mythical good guy with a gun.
The idea isn't just to arm people and stop there, but rather to form community defense networks. So, no, it's not an uncritical mirroring of that right wing fantasy because it's instead calling for getting armed, forming groups to practice and train with. This isn't just hoping to gun down whatever random person draws a gun in a mall or whatever.

Armed and organized community defense is a historically effective tactic. The Black Panthers did it, Maoist groups in the Philippines and India do it, hell a non communist example is like every right wing group in America.
The main force of an organized and armed militia isn't to have shootouts with cops, it's to make the cops think twice about going somewhere and make reactionary adventurists afraid to do adventurism.
Now, if I where a poster of the fed persuasion I might say that their point about how you cant quick draw mcgraw a determined gunman would count equally for if a right wing psycho was the target.
Also, I find every single argument that ends up with "buhhh thats just the fantasy that the arms manufacturers sell you in order to get you to buy guns" extremely dull, no one is willing or capable of un-gunning the right wing of America(even after a revolution and a strong grasp on power it would be a hugely daunting task), so even if its unlikely that you will be able to react in time to a gunman going up to you, you can either just fucking die realizing all your options like running away are long gone or die with a chance of defending yourself.
Unless the real defense argued by these libs is just never aggravating the right wing by pushing fundamental human rights and leftist politics, or if you do to never be seen in public or have your location leaked ever again. Maybe I'm being stupid and thinking of this in way too simple terms but it seems pretty simple to me, if you dont have a gun you're entirely at the mercy of no one targeting you, or whoever targets you being a fuckup, if you have a gun you have fucking something except hope and prayer going on. Theres of course more layers to effectively protecting people from assassins than just having a gun, but a gun is just a fundamental good start if you expect to be facing the homicidal rage of your enemies, however shitty the odds may be of you surviving and defending yourself are, I cant imagine it making them much worse.
