The Chinese communist party is so powerful they can cover up a third of the country dying and only a weird homophobic cult noticed.

They are saying in 3 years covid took out 25-30% of China's population and no one noticed.

I really can't stress how stupidly big the number they throw out is. Like obviously its stupid. But look at this as an example:

      2 x WW2 - 150,000,000

      6 x Reported American covid deaths - 6,600,000

      5 x Holocaust - 30,000,000

      1200 x 9/11s -3,600,000

3 x Deaths contributed to European colonization of the Americas - 168,000,000

4,180 x "Alleged" Tiananmen square deaths

      < 400m

Imagine all those people ... disappearing within a 3-4 year period. ..

      spoiler

      Dont check my math.

edit: I screwed it up Americas covid deaths 2x . :dont-laugh:

So as you can tell by this tweet the CCP can easily cover up a total of 600 million deaths without a trace. The only reason any of you have even heard of Tianmen square is that 700 million people died there.

I mean this is just proof that communism works. Can you imagine capitalism trying to cover up that many deaths?

The entire population of China has died 3 times, but the tyrant Xi won't let them stay dead and uses juche necromancy to keep resurrecting them. Still think China is "cool"?

I lived in Wuhan during SARS, it was fucking eerie. A city of 6 million suddenly seemed empty, there was no quarantine that I know of people just stayed home, everyone who went out wore a mask. People were legit scared but it only lasted like that for about six weeks I think. Obviously COVID is a different beast still just the absolute difference in response between the US and China during the early days just by the general public, without any government intervention, has always really stood out to me.

Interesting side note, The doctors at the campus my family was living had us drink like half a pint of some herbal remedy every day that tasted like fucking patchouli but we never got sick. Not sure if that was the reason or not but I ended up taking a number of herbal remedies while I lived there and quite a few of them definitively helped. There's still a couple things I pick up ever time I get to visit a decent china town. People who clown on herbal and eastern medicine are morons.

I think the reason so many in the west oppose herbal medicine and traditional Chinese medicine is because we have no history or traditional medicine of our own since it was destroyed by the Catholic church during their persecution of paganism and witchcraft

Because of that what passes for "alternative medicine" here in the west is a bunch of snake oil scam artist bullshit with no regulations whatsoever that you're even getting the snake oil they promised you

Exactly that, and now people are conflating herbal medicine with crystal healers and homeopathy so things aren't really getting better. Which sucks cause there are some really useful plants out there.

I oppose it because it usually doesn't bear results when its clinically trialled.

If it works, it should stand up to the scientific method.

Yeah same with my family, I grew up eating or drinking odd shit like bee Royal jelly, liquefied elk horns mixed with tree mushroom extract and root plant puree, and teas made from lichen that look like white worms, moss that look more like rocks, and what tastes like a pinch of sand. And as someone diagnosed with severe asthma when I was younger my asthma's practically nonexistent even when I exercise heavily or during pollen season or work in contaminated environments. The only I ever really still experience it is when I'm interacting with animals I'm allergic to and I can work off my wheezing and sneezing with fresh air and breathing exercises.

I straight up have no idea what thing helped me out and I still generally am apprehensive towards the field of Chinese and Korean traditional medicine but I would rather have it as supplemental medical treatment on top of modern medicine over literal snake oil selling American 'homeopaths'

      no u.

if herbal shit has an active ingredient how the fuck do you control your dose? and if it doesn't have an active ingredient, then it's not the substance that's helping.

cool, I don't have a med card so it's recreational and that means i don't have a very good idea of how much i'm taking or how much i need to be taking for it to do what i want it to do for me.

you see how this is a problem for medicine right? medical weed helps people and would probably help me but the way that shit all went down in the US was legal gamesmanship and it's still not particularly scientific and i'd clown just the same on somebody saying weed was doing something that weed doesn't do.

i don't know where you live but around here the federal agency that's in charge of enforcing the accuracy of that kind of labelling doesn't regulate "supplements" or fake bullshit.

White lotus oil, some sort of tea powder which is like ginseng cinnamon and black tea ( can basically get that any where now though), there's a couple other things which I only know when I see them. One of them works really well for a cough suppressant and I can't think of what it was at all at the moment.

this tweet sponsored by Shen Yun

Chairman Mao appeared, and the sky turned black; the city in the digital backdrop was obliterated by an earthquake, then finished off by a Communist tsunami. A red hammer and sickle glowed in the center of the wave. Dazed, I rubbed my eyes and saw a huge, bearded face disappearing in the water.

“Was that . . . ?” I said to my brother, wondering if I needed to go to the hospital.

“Karl Marx?” he said. “Yeah, I think that was a tsunami with the face of Karl Marx.”

What's particularly wild is reading the wikipedia page for Falun Gong. We're talking about a fucking cult - complete with a guarded compound (in NY no less), belief their leader is an alien, all that shit - but like 90% of the article shows them in a neutral or positive light with like 70% dedicated to "persecution" against the cult.

      Jeez, I wonder why :cap-think:

At this rate Falun Gong could go all Aum Shinrikyo and do a sarin gas attack in a chinese subway and wikipedia and CNN would be like "Falun Gong is now facing persecution for their heroic actions by the evil CCP."

Yeah my fiance's in Shanghai right now, her son and daughter-in-law have been there for the whole pandemic, I have colleagues all over that country, I know at least two other US-based Chinese nationals with a lot of family in mainland China... From all of these connections I know of one elderly individual who died with COVID-19 in June.

To be fair I don't have any personal connections to any families in the US with a COVID-19 death but it's a much smaller country.
