The Prophet Armed, The Prophet Unarmed, and The Prophet Outcast
Trotskyist Dune
Hi yes I'd like to transfer to the reality where a based HBO made this a prestige series instead Chernobyl
Russia made a Trotsky show a few years ago. It was on Netflix, not sure if it still is. Grotesquely anti-Semitic, predictably anti-Communist trash. I quit in the second episode.
I did like watching Trotsky have sex on his dungeon train. It wasn't all bad.
In this reality I choose to reimagine HBO as the Hoxhaist Box Office
Jacobin the liberals aren't gonna fuck you, they'll still call you a tankie Russian propaganda rag after this. You gotta let them go
Say what you will about the man himself but he at least fully supported the defense of the Soviet Union in the event it was invaded, as "deformed" as he considered it. Unlike some of his followers.
No doubt he was a tool but somehow had more sense than his followers who have hindsight and access to a whole digital world of information.
They’ve released three articles (so far) today on Stalin.
In one of them, they make up a country in Eastern Europe and explain how it would be oppressed by Stalinism if it existed.
Hilarious.
Are they even a real person? :data-laughing: That sounds like some sort of ridiculous chatbot nonesense.
A polish guy with the last name german? very non-biased opinion about stalin incoming
In fairness, there's also the possibility of a Pole with a German surname being Jewish, who might have a different opinion on Stalin for obvious reasons (then again, it's not guaranteed. See: George Soros low-key defending Hungary's fascist regime).
Yeah, he was Jewish (and died over 50 years ago).
Supposedly the reason for his split with the mainline of the KPP is him disagreeing with the social fascism theory and according to Wikipedia (shit source ik) he wasn't even that anti-Stalinist - he still saw him as a socialist, even if one who led the USSR in a wrong direction.
I mean, there were many MLs in the day who misinterpreted Stalin over Social Fascim but I'm not sure about the man in particular.
I would normally say this belongs in the dunk tank but they're literally a meme at this point
At some point academics have to stop ""finding"" anything new to write in a Stalin biography, right?
The opening of the archives should’ve laid to rest the absolute dictatorship idea
Good job, Jacobin! I'm sure this will stop Dems and GOPers from calling you evil tankies now!
Imagine opening some author's fanfiction.net account and discovering they've written twenty stories for some fandom, half some dumb ship and half bashing some character that got in the way of their ship.
This has the same vibes as that, and also, the same relevancy to the real world.
Nothing makes me like Trotsky less than his most ardent supporters.
