Bizarrely enough they made a video about wizard game a month or so ago talking about how buying it is supporting Queen Terf yet they then go and spit this shit out.
He has reached the “high on their own farts” stage of the average YouTuber’s career. Shame, his recipes and non-podcast videos are interesting but outside of that he’s always had this “I need to have the last word on this” libertarian tech-bro defensive but combative vibe. I was pretty close to purchasing his branded knife, but I guess I’ll pass now.
Oh, and you could just stop eating animals then you wouldn’t have to twist yourself into a pretzel to defend a fucking chicken restaurant.
He's got subtitles on all his shit and generally does "regular kitchen" type recipes, or provides alternatives for how to do shit like that, so it sucks when he goes and says shit like this and makes me not wanna support his bullshit.
Its absurd that food youtube doesnt have subtitles as a mandatory standard, half the fucking shit you do or use is called by its french name, so its bullshit to make people try and decipher the average youtube guy voice speaking french.
It would be so easy to just…. Not make this video. Like much easier than making it and releasing it. Why even do this lol.
It's so easy to shut the fuck up, especially when your income depends on people liking you
He's always starting flamewars with his own fans in his comments. He's literally incapable of shutting the fuck up for his own good
It's just a fucking sandwich, jesus christ its not so good that you have to support homophobes to get access to a mid sandwich.
Do people even like Chick-Fil-A? Or do they only virtue signal (yeah, I'll use their words against them) about liking it because they're openly republicans? And everyone and their mother has the ungodly compulsion to dickride everything made by a CHUD?
People like it. There was one next to campus that was mostly full of students. Adam is a lib detailing all the homophobia of the chud owners here
It's also really easy to replicate the sauce and get some sweet potato buns.
I never liked him or watched his content, and now I get to pretend that's me being prescient instead of getting lucky off a purely vibes-based thing.
if youre gonna argue about mass produced chicken sandwiches popeyes spicy is easily king
Popeyes isn't very consistent store to store. The better ones really are the easy winner though.
Love their homestyle mac n cheese and whever they roll out the blackened chicken is my weakness. Their coleslaw beats the pants off KFC. KFC's quality has gone down the shitter lately. Like whoever owns it doesn't care.
have a first world problem of having too many good choices. My Popeyes just opened across from an Arby's :ohnoes:
Cool, now I feel justified in never liking him because he always came off as a bit of a pretentious douche
His whole shtick was this bazinga, gee-whiz, food hack shit. It was always terrible.
I like him too, he's the OG food nerd and as far as I know he hasn't said anything stupid like defending homophobia. Ragusea kinda copied his schtick but with muscles.
as far as I know he hasn’t said anything stupid like defending homophobia.
Pretty sure he's known to be a big time conservative
alton brown is a conservative. Makes sense because he was born and raised southern. He made a tweet critical of trump and the gop, and everyone got mad at him for it, causing him to make a tweet likening himself to a victim of the Holocaust over it.
Food Network star Alton Brown apologizes for Holocaust tweet - https://www.ajc.com/news/food-network-star-apologizes-for-flippant-tweet-about-holocaust/BZJBHFP6KNBS3DT7GBGLWVUKEU/
Never meet your heroes etc etc
I remember watching an interview with him once - he was a successful film production guy until he caught a cooking bug and went to culinary school. Dude was a small business owner for years before he picked up a spatula.
In my case, the whole "let's be scientific and precise about cooking" current got old as soon as I started reading more and having more contact with food philosophy and politics, and seeing how food and taste are not just variables that need optimizing but meaningful actions in daily lives. It's also very toxic-masculine in tone, even if not in message.
Yeah that's very true, although on the bright side, some people, mostly men, likely needed that philosophy in order to sorta pipeline them towards cooking.
Oh yeah definitely. I see the benefit, and to a point it drew me closer to cooking, but now that it's become a much more important part of my life and research, I've moved past it.
i hope nothing but i'm just preemptively assuming the worst because of comment above
He also is the guy in the Vox Mariah Carey Christmas Chords video and he's cursed by it because he fucked up the chords so every year, pretentious music students find him and call him out about fucking up the chords
He used to (probably still does) get into youtube comment slapfights which I always found really funny but I agree
Adams hits:
- Anti vegan propaganda that apologized for deer hunting with the classic baby brained shit like “a quick death from a hunter is better than dying of old age grinding their teeth to nuns” Every idiot who says this deserves a quick death, fucking morons. Oh yeah he basically made a series of anti vegan prop, this guy gets the wall.
- Posting his awful eating disorder meal prep of frozen tilapia and cauliflower pot
- Whitey refusing to wash his rice (he’s kinda right but it’s funny)
It gets boiled for so long it doesn't matter if three spores of fungus are there.
I shovel that shit into my mouth fast it doesn't make a damn difference
To elaborate on what the other poster is saying, it depends on what type of rice and what you're doing with it. Some dishes you want a starchy, sticky rice that'll form into coherent clumps, but if you want the drier fluffier style of rice you'd likely get in a restaurant you want to rinse it a couple of times before cooking it. I just put it in a bowl, dump water on it, stir it, and drain it against my hand and repeat once, and that's worked well enough.
Thank you for taking the time to explain that... my sleep-deprived ass was thinking "eh, i'll elaborate tomorrow"
that's interesting, but really not worth the effort in my opinion. thanks for sharing!
You just do it while the water's heating up instead of just standing around waiting, and it makes as big a difference to the end result as salting and adding some oil to the water does.
I make rice in a rice cooker, and i don't add salt or oil because the point of rice is to soak up flavor from what I'm actually cooking.
:meow-tableflip:
You still have to season it first, even if you're frying the rice with a seasoning sauce or drenching it in a sauce to serve. Even if it's being served in a stew or drowning in curry.
Hello, I am Chinese. Also a cook by profession.
The coating on white rice is excess starch. For paella and risotto, that is perfectly fine, if not outright beneficial.
For Asian cuisine, loose, fluffy rice is the norm. Think rice you would get at an Indian or Chinese restaurant.
Extra starch is also detrimental to frying. Fried rice in particular is generally made with thoroughly washed rice, cooked then slightly dried out. This form of loose rice has more surface area (as opposed to a clump of rice the same weight) for absorbing flavor. Unwashed rice with the exact same method will become gummy, and the starch kind of absorbs the frying oil and burns.
Sushi rice is also thoroughly washed, unwashed sushi rice will turn into gummy, chewy sushi.
Posting his awful eating disorder meal prep of frozen tilapia and cauliflower pot
lowkey one of the most disgusting shit i've ever cooked in my life lol, what a scam that was, no diet can be sustainable with that microwaved cooked tilapia.
Why...do this? Like some people eat the homophobic chicken, some of those people are gay people, capitalism bad, Chick-fil-A more bad than just capitalism bad, no ethical consumption, etc. But like...why do this? Why dick ride truett Cathy's proudly southern Baptist ass restaurant? I'm almost genuinely asking, I don't really want to watch this, but I can't fathom like, what the rationale could possibly be.
I skipped around the video a bit and he goes in depth about the all the hate groups donated to and what they do, why they are considered hate groups etc so I don't think he's trying to be anti-woke
Yeah OP really distorted the (still annoying) actual excuse that AR uses in the video
I guess, and that's as good as I'm going to do because god, I thought this was just his YouTube show, no, it's a 80 minute fucking podcast.
I don’t know enough about him to have known that
:mao-wave:
I've never been and I found out there's one nearby.
Are they a chicken or a burger joint/ if both which more gooder
Its a burger and ice cream (frozen custard) place like Dairy Queen, except their burgers are actually good.
burger magic
They fry the burger in butter which sort of carmelizes the meat. The result is a slight crunch to the patty.
The menu is also fairly large for a burger joint. Like you can get a fish fry or meatloaf dinner if you want to.
Burger, but they have chicken. I don't think I've ever had the chicken, but the burgers are really good. They also have a pot roast sandwich that's pretty good, and Wisconsin cheese curds.
The chicken is top notch. It's rare to even get better chicken from like a really good sit down restaurant. They have like fried chicken tenders and chicken sandwiches, regular or mildly spicy, even the grilled chicken is really juicy that they put on the sandwiches and salads. Oh the salads are bomb too.
Burger joint with a few really good chicken options. The burgers are better than any other fast food place, and better than 90% of like, those sort of local specialty burger restaurants.
The chicken is just really consistently done right, they have tenders and sandwiches, crispy/spicy/buffalo. Better than 90% of good, serious non-fast food restaurants in your area, and better than 100% of fast food places.
Oh also the fish is so fucking good oh my god, rare to find better fried fish but if you get a fish platter don't take it to go, it's really delicate crispy beer batter that you don't want to steam in the box and get soggy.
And they are famous for custard. It's really fucking good
Wow what a loser. I’ve watched some of his videos and enjoyed them.
me too i was subbed for years, this weird ass video made me unsub
My guilt pleasure is “worth a buy” because he has a funny Geordie accent and he tears shitty game publishers to shreds. You just have to put up with him complaining about the “wokeification” of games every few videos
Comments say hes turned it into some kind of north vs south thing or something.
Boycotting Chik Fil A is practically a second reconstruction!
uhhhhh what the hell was wrong with the first one, except that it was defeated?
Just making a joke from the perspective of bigoted confederacy supporters, the only thing wrong with the first reconstruction was it didnt go far enough.
Bruh's got some dead simple recipes and his bread videos helped me improve my pizza dough. Not ever watching his podcasts though because there aren't enough food shots
There's a video of Chef James Makinson dunking on Ragusea's NY pizza dough recipe and giving better tips. Check it out.
Fredo
roiderbodybuilder from south US, what would you expect? The first sign something wasn't OK was him interviewing a "Don't Tread On Me" dipshit who grew mushrooms. Very cool lab setup and all tho.
I've had chik-fil-a a handful of times in the past and i just remember them being... okay? Nothing really to write home about. Had better at Church's.
