The prayer - uttered or unexpressed - of many an undowered young woman is, May a moneyed man fall in love with me! And she is not always over-careful to add, And may I fall in love with that moneyed man!

      That caught my attention too.

The standup comedian scene in NYC alone is insufferable because of some sort of contractual obligation to kiss NYC's collective ass in any skit that begins with "so I'm a New Yorker" which inevitably is followed with a congratulatory speech about how New Yorkers are smart and tough and streetwise and cultured and sophisticated yet rugged and don't give a fuck about anything :very-intelligent:

" . . . he said to me, 'where are you from?' and I said 'New York'...'ahh New York, it's a very interesting place... do you know a lot of New Yorkers who keep talking about wanting to leave but never do?' and I said yes, and he said 'why do you think they don't leave?' I gave him a few banal theories, and he said 'I don't think it's that way at all... I think that New York is a new model for the new concentration camp, where the camp has been built by the inmates themselves, and the inmates ARE the guards, and they have this pride in this thing they built, they built their own prison, so they exist in a state of schizophrenia where they are the both guards and prisoners, and as a result they no longer have, having been lobotomized, the capacity to leave the prison they made or to even see it as a prison.' . . . "

    self made

I need a man who does not exist in the broader context of society. He should be able to bootstrap reality itself, to create his own multipolar reality from the singularity that is his own consciousness, drifting untethered through the broader miasma until the day when our micro dimensions may finally collide and become one, basking in our dissociation from the material planes of men and all the petty concerns which its inhabitants embody.

Oh, and also he’s gotta make at least $300k/year.
