The rhetoric and goal of Hexbar are clear based on their announcement: to “dismantle western propaganda” and "demolish organizations such as NATO” shows that Hexbar has no intention of "respecting the rules of the community instance in which they are posting/commenting.” It’s to push their beliefs and ideology.

lol. lmao even

I'll copy what I told their admin:

Like honestly this is kinda gross, they [hexbear admins] specifically try and smooth things out and make things easier for your [.world] admins so you don’t have to deal with a flood of hexbear users spamming PPB everywhere and you just use it as evidence to defederate lol

Moralists don't really have beliefs. Sometimes they stumble on one, like on a child's toy left on the carpet. The toy must be put away immediately. And the child reprimanded. Centrism isn't change -- not even incremental change. It is control. Over yourself and the world. Exercise it. Look up at the sky, at the dark shapes of Coalition airships hanging there. Ask yourself: is there something sinister in moralism? And then answer: no. God is in his heaven. Everything is normal on Earth.

Levels of Liberalism even Mao couldn't comprehend.

What a terrible justification. So their reason for defederating isn't hate speech or anything truly problematic, but because... We're a socialist instance with socialist opinions? So it really is just anti-socialism then? It's also amusing seeing people accuse Hexbear of being an echo chamber, yet it's the lemmy.world admins going against their own users to preemptively defederate instances on shaky ideological grounds? Not only is Hexbear NOT doing this, but admins here even made a post encouraging people to act in good faith and follow the rules of other instances. Which instance is the real echo chamber here? Sure looks like lemmy.world.

Anyways, we have better emotes, better posts, cooler users, and a real community that helps people and does good things. If you're a lemmy.world user reading this, make an account here and come on over. I've been on this site awhile now, and it's actually quite nice.

A spectre is haunting Europe — the spectre of communism. All the powers of old Europe have entered into a holy alliance to exorcise this spectre: Pope and Tsar, Metternich and Guizot, French Radicals and German police-spies.

Where is the party in opposition that has not been decried as communistic by its opponents in power? Where is the opposition that has not hurled back the branding reproach of communism, against the more advanced opposition parties, as well as against its reactionary adversaries?

Two things result from this fact:
      I. Communism is already acknowledged by all European powers to be itself a power.
II. It is high time that Communists should openly, in the face of the whole world, publish their views, their aims, their tendencies, and meet this nursery tale of the Spectre of Communism with a manifesto of the party itself.

lol, people there threw a massive hissy fit when I criticized them for being federated with Nazi and lolicon instances, yet whining about the tankies instead. Now they've finally defederated from exploding-heads after realizing that maybe these Nazis are Nazis, while Hexbear gets pre-eminently blocked because of this statement full of spurious reasoning.

SRS did a massive amount of good on that shithole website. Before SRS it had jailbait, a hundred different pedo subreddits, and gamers still said "haha get raped!" when they killed opponents. It had a significant impact on site culture.

This dumbass obviously opposes the positive changes it brought about though.

It was the original boogeyman of reddit, SRS stood for shit reddit says and all it did was basically link to racist/sexist/lgbt-phobic posts on other subreddits and people would make fun of the redditor in the comments. This mocking would break their psyche and was an unforgivable sin to all the fragile redditors and they would regularly come into SRS to argue and get mocked even harder. It had a similar vibe to r/chapotraphouse long before that existed but with less of an explicit leftist slant because reddit-logo was just that horrible, even libs could dunk on how shitty they were. It's hilarious that even though its basically a ghost town now this guy is still clutching his pearls about it all these years later.

Like, we literally don't want to be an echo chamber. We didn't CHOOSE to leave Reddit. We CHOSE a federated social media platform with the intent of communicating with other communities. This got derailed for a few years for historical reasons, but the intent was there in the beginning and it is finally being followed through on.

            post the quote nerd

edit: sorry couldn't find it then i scrolled down half a page and someone else posted it so i might as well be another nerd that posts it

During the cold war, the anticommunist ideological framework could transform any data about existing communist societies into hostile evidence. If the Soviets refused to negotiate a point, they were intransigent and belligerent; if they appeared willing to make concessions, this was but a skillful ploy to put us off our guard. By opposing arms limitations, they would have demonstrated their aggressive intent; but when in fact they supported most armament treaties, it was because they were mendacious and manipulative. If the churches in the USSR were empty, this demonstrated that religion was suppressed; but if the churches were full, this meant the people were rejecting the regime's atheistic ideology. If the workers went on strike (as happened on infrequent occasions), this was evidence of their alienation from the collectivist system; if they didn't go on strike, this was because they were intimidated and lacked freedom. A scarcity of consumer goods demonstrated the failure of the economic system; an improvement in consumer supplies meant only that the leaders were attempting to placate a restive population and so maintain a firmer hold over them.

If communists in the United States played an important role struggling for the rights of workers, the poor, African-Americans, women, and others, this was only their guileful way of gathering support among disfranchised groups and gaining power for themselves. How one gained power by fighting for the rights of powerless groups was never explained. What we are dealing with is a nonfalsifiable orthodoxy, so assiduously marketed by the ruling interests that it affected people across the entire political spectrum.

I'm trying to put myself behind their lib eyeballs and understand what exactly is meant to be sinister and threatening about the Hexbear statement of federation guidelines. like it's all very explicitly "hey, be normal, be communist, but don't fuck with people for no reason," and apparently that was enough to get the little Bircherites in their head printing pamphlets. Really shows that the mere existence of communist views is so threatening that they don't even have to explicitly state that that's the problem.

that's literally it. it's like cuba. cuba poses absolutely zero material threat to the US or its people. its mere existence however acknowledges ways of ordering society to value human life outside the hegemon. the threat is entirely ideological. there is literally only The West and her glorious, infallible institutions for these people. the threat is more people inside the core seeing the cracks in the facade, which are so plainly visible from outside.
