Kinda pissed that the first trans congresswoman is also a zionist lib. Letting this go unchallenged is only going to embolden the fash.

it is cool we have a trans woman elected though, just sucks that she sucks

I suppose this shouldn’t be a surprise. The Democratic party would never support a candidate who isn’t a spineless coward. They don’t want us to elect people who will fight for us. The only reason they don’t primary people like Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib is that they’d risk losing those seats to a Republican.

Fucking losers. Gonna compromise and respectability their way straight into fascism but somehow we are the assholes for refusing to support them.

I'm not here to fight about bathrooms

Fuck off, being able to exist in public is a fight worth having. This framing as if bathrooms aren't important pisses me off.

If she's going to claim to represent us, and then fail to fight for us on the most basic shit about the right to exist in public; she can fuck right off the tallest building she can find.

Fuck this victim shit. She stepped into the ring, she's wearing our colors, and she's rolling over. Thats not a victim.

Edit: this is surrendering on our behalf, not being a victim.

I'm saying she stepped up in our name. This is the most obvious shit, she had to know this would happen if she isn't dumber than a bag of scopolamine. She chose this fight.

So she needs to fucking fight it, or we all look bad. It means shit heads like this are going to be this much bolder everywhere else.

She could fight badly. She could lose. She could fuck up. I probably wouldnt hold that against her. Declining to fight is what is egregious here.

This is going to be a problem for so many other people, so many more are going to have to fight or suffer this now; people who will not have any choice whether to fight it, because this piece of shit rolled over for fascist belly rubs. Because it made it look okay. Like to be a 'good' trans person is to not fight being erased from public life, making any objector de-facto compared negatively to it.

I will not have sympathy for a fucking us congressghoul. Not one of them has been a victim since the fucking civil war.

she is a comprador to the amerikkkan regime and a zionist, why should i show her an ounce of respect or solidarity? she is my enemy, the fact that she's trans doesn't change that

You need to understand that the purpose of a system is what it does. Democrats who have done nothing except roll over as more and more rights are taken away as quite literally just as guilty of the outcome as the Republicans who vote the bills into law. They are voluntarily upholding and enacting this system. They don't deserve our sympathy.

You can fuck off too. She's in a position to make a difference and refuses to fight for herself. If she's this spineless now, what makes anyone think she's going to do anything of value? It doesn't matter who's doing this. She needs to actually fight back.

I promise you literally everyone in this thread already would happily toss Mike Johnson and whatever other transphobic cronies in a pit and a live grenade to follow. We're allowed to be pissed off at the lack of resistance and solidarity from supposed representatives of the community in question.

The worst part of this is all the cis libs calling it a brilliant move.

Just kidding, the worst part of this is that it's an early indicator that we're going to be bulldozing forward into all sorts of measures eliminating trans people from public life. One party will take everything from us, and the other will think they're brave for abandoning us.

The ideal outcome from this is that Nancy Mace's and Mike Johnson's constituencies ask why the fuck they are so concerned about congressional bathrooms instead of doing their fucking jobs.

This is a fight that needs to be fought, but it should be fought in South Carolina's 1st and Louisiana's 4th congressional district

and the Soviet Union should still exist and I should shit candy and rainbows but I’m not holding my breath for any of the above. It’s also not about her “personal needs” (though it’s pretty important to be able to take a piss in the building you work at) but on the needs of all trans people to be able to exist outside in public without Sherclock Jones standing outside the shitter with labia calipers. She is a proxy for a larger fight, nothing happens in a vacuum

I would hope none of those people would vote republican in the first place?

Go talk to some republicans, they actually think this kind of thing is good. They want this. They see trans people being banned from the proper bathroom and think its good and want it to happen more.

Im bummed that shes a zionist lib but i was happy to see MTG and her ilk gettinf triggered. Im bummed about this result - it almost feels like its giving transphobes/terfs an example of a "good trans person". "She doesnt make a fuss about bathrooms or try to play sports with girls, she isnt shoving it in our face like all the radical wokies"

Hopefully she stands for trans rights in the future though. I disagree with her action here but i also understand the desire to make it go away. It would just suck if the first openly trans congressperson ends up supporting a ban on transgender healthcare for minors or some shit like that

Like seriously, I get her saying that there are other issues to work on, but like, do you think the people would have voted for a trans woman if they didn't think trans rights and representation are important? The difference here is that there previously weren't such restrictions, and she's not even putting up a fight when Republicans actively worsen conditions relative to the previous status quo. Putting up resistance to any attempts to go backwards should be the bare minimum for anyone who claims to be fighting for the rights of a marginalized group.
