No you specifically called out people for staying inside and getting deliveries.

They were calling out privileged people who get to sit at home during all of this and aren't in any real danger.

There's nothing wrong with, and it's in fact good, getting deliveries right now as long as you can afford it.

It's just not something the average working class person can do sustainably.

What is the point of calling out people?

Getting mad at people who have the means to have a sane approach to the pandemic isnt productive. Yeah you can say it’s exploiting “essential workers” but I don’t really get it when the alternative to getting a delivery is going out yourself and mixing people together more. The fundamental issue is the lack of protection and lack of support for “essential” workers, plus a very fast and loose definition of essential.

Nah you get the point entirely, i just think you're being a bit defensive on the subject.

I'm in a position where I don't have to go out, barely but so far at least. You're just looking too deep into that particular line.

They were just pointing out that the liberals calling essential workers "heroes" and dictating them to continue working with zero added protections or benefits are also people that don't have to be in the public and at risk constantly.

There's nothing wrong with staying in during a pandemic, like I said it's a good thing, the problem is exploitation as always.

Isn't it morally worse if you claim to believe scientists and doctors about serious issues like climate change and Covid, and then don't propose any serious solutions of plans to get a handle on them? At least the Republican argument of "that's all fake, and we're not doing shit about it" is logically consistent.

You should listen to one of the latest Citations Needed episodes about this exact topic, it's a great (infuriating) listen.

There was a great citations needed episode about this a week or so ago. They say that Dems lukewarm response to climate change might as well be climate change denialism

Saying "I believe in science" then doing nothing for 8+ years is the hall mark of modern democratic climate denialism.

Its the old: I see you, I hear you, I believe you, now go fuck yourself.

But he says he’ll “listen to the doctors”! Nothing about doing what they say, but he’ll listen.

I'm on another site that has a bunch of Brits who support Boris Johnson and they literally say this same thing. "But he listens to the doctors! he listens to the scientists!" yeah OK, nothing about what they say or what he's going to do after that.

You fucking idiots. How can you actually be so stupid that you think Biden will be as bas as Trump.

Let me spell it out for you: Biden is in the blue party. He has a D next to his name. Need I say more?

    "I will listen to scientists"

Okay dude scientists already have been saying shit. You should already have listened to them and have a fucking plan. Instead Biden is going to wait until he gets in to form a plan. Which will take months to a year. Meanwhile any criticism about not having a fucking plan will be blamed on Trump. It's so fucking stupid. And when his plan fucks up all you're going to here is "imagine if Trump was still in office."

Jesus fucking christ why does every neolib sound like a shit AI that just turns random nouns and verbs into meaningless platitudes structured with and/or juxtaposing statements and rule of 3?

This means nothing. It is a fucking void of a statement. It's the language equivilent of a fucking black hole.

Honestly, I can't imagine neolibs doing anything real you know? Can you imagine someone like Biden or Marcon or Starmer taking a shit or brushing their teeth? I can't. The language they use weirdly dehumanises them. I'd rather they were replaced by flatscreen tellys displaying the stock market and intermittently broadcasting angry static. It'd be more fucking honest than this cardboard cutout puppet show.

It's extremely distressing to hear someone in the oppo party essentially describing how little they would actually do once in office.

For real, like you should know by now electoral politics are fucking stupid. You should have no horse in this race. You should know this by now. In my opinion, if you want to get the best bang for your buck in this stupid ass circus, you want dipshit American fascist getting owned in small amusing ways. And then in turn watch them have complete meltdowns and get killed/locked up for trying to kill Nancy Pelosi or some dumb shit lol.

His plan is probably to have as many people physically go back to work and reopen as many things as humanly possible, and just to put everyone in half assed PPE. Can we mark a date on things like on reddit? lmao
