On a side note, I think the word 'gubernatorial' is really weird. Like what's up with that? Did someone try to be a smart ass back in the day? Like "Look at me, I'm so smart, I speak Latin."
I do not like it :cat-confused:

Virginia is a state too close to DC. North Virginia (NoVa) is increasingly full of those who defend establishment interests like defense contractors, lobbyists, and lawyers. I could see someone like Carter being more successful in another state, but Virginia would be a heavily uphill battle.

You just know this is the narrative they'll push if he gets any traction.

If its any help he also retweeted that he has filed, but is still debating actually running. Just keeping his options open, but yeah I dont see him winning

Does he have to give up his seat to run? He probably won't win so if he has to, he shouldn't. But if he keeps his seat or whatever fuck it. Run and force concessions from the libs or go for the win. If he has the seat to fall back to why not?

. There is not a law saying he cant run for governor while elected, but there is one saying he cannot raise money while elected and the state legislature isnt in session. So he'd realistically have to resign to raise money full time.

State campaign finance laws are so scummy. Legislators usually don't get paid enough either.

Yeah, you have places like New Hampshire where State Reps make $200/term, basically designing it so only retirees, small business owners, and wealthy lawyers can afford to become a Representative.

But he could do it while they are in session? I don’t see the logic in that.

I wonder if somebody could set up a Super-PAC to collect online donations for him, so that he could keep his seat and still have the resources to get the message out.

Who even cares. The left acts like a home owner's association holding grudges for decades because someone's Daschund shit in their yard in 1987.
