I don't really care about the stupid "classified documents stuff", I just think that it is funny that POTUS will not be charged because he is too cognitively impaired.

"He did not remember when he was vice president" is also funny. My son died and I was the Democratic VP was Biden's main pitch to the Dem primary electorate lmao.

The corpse of Biden has decomposed even more and ol' Don doesn't have what he had 8 years ago. Any debate will turn into a race of whose amphetamines runs out faster.

Octogenarian who has reached the stage of life where memory loss is truly a credible criminal defense vs septuagenarian who is one of the dumbest people on planet earth

The best part is their leadership is virtually indistinguishable and their policies are identical so it doesn’t really matter who wins, yet everyone puts on an act that this is the most important election of our lifetimes

The death machine is on autopilot and sitting in the driver seat is a formality and symbol more than anything real. The political vultures will still squabble over the seat because their careers depend on taking bribes for warming it

Like we’ve been totally normalized to it—the frog in water thing. But by any objective standard, the US is a sick, sick country if this is the only outcome possible for an election. We must look so bizarre to other countries.

If my metric were simply how much I trust the candidate to operate a computer because they're all 3 appendages of the one eldritch capitalist monster, it'd be a conversation if she knows more than Trump. He knows how to post, but she's maybe used some sort of commercial information management system as a cop. She'd know bcc vs cc while he needed someone to show him picture focused briefings about important events. I think she prob would be the best of her, Biden, and Trump

Since I got less skin the game (don’t live in the US), the funniest outcome for me would be trump being convicted, elected, and then pardoning himself.

I'm holding out hope that he gets convicted in some state (Georgia, probably) and then can't pardon himself so he has to serve out his term from a jail cell. that would be the absolute funniest outcome and so on brand for the US.

there's a technicality that you can't hold federal office if you've done an insurrection, which is what the libs are furiously gesturing at. but they fundamentally misunderstand power. the supreme court can and will throw at that statute if it ever comes up in a case and it benefits them. but no state convictions or even lesser federal ones stop someone from taking power, once elected.

USian federalism is weird. we elect a king every 4 years but his lords can throw him in jail and keep him there, while the priests deify his reign.

Can someone explain how they justify a cognitively impaired person willfully discloses and withholds anything? Mayve they phrase the former such that the conclusion doesn't seem like a contradiction, but I can't be bothered to check that.

Also, Biden didn't really have a pitch in 2020. No liberal democratic election is legitimate but the 2020 election was beyond farcical. They propped up a corpse of a man, won the primary by what can only be described as complete collusion with media appararuses, then the general by the sitting moron make literally the worst decision at every turn during a pandemic.

It's funny/not funny that this is all a ripple effect of the dems being so petrified of flattened-bernie that they had to prop up this shambling corpse. Really they could have let Bernie run with it and worst case for them is he gets in and they stifle his agenda and get to go "See? I get this impression that in the time of Nixon and Kennedy, when the TV was just starting out, having that single moment where Joe goes to shake someone's hand who isn't there would have been damning to his whole campaign and he would have resigned and Kalamala would be president today. The CIA would have assassinated him ala Kennedy with contrived fall guys and all before they let him do a second conversation with the press where he slurs words.

Am I off base in thinking the shamelessness of politicians to blunder in front of everyone is a recent invention? When there was 1 news channel and everyone rehearsed what they were going to say before doing unspeakable evil to sow the seeds of what we reap today, it seemed like they were stricter in decorum.

the magic part is the unremitting system of extreme violence keeping the labor price of the global south as low as possible. material conditions are "good enough" pretty much for that reason alone. the other reason is the number and quality of guns and cameras pointed inwards.
