Chapo put me on to the talk “Primrose Path” and revleft radio shared it on their feed. It’s amazing how the realist foreign policy is just that…realistic. A country’s leader says there’s a red line, and for them it truly means something and America plays their dutiful role into escalating conflict.

Just kinda sick of some dude claiming America ks spreading democracy in the same speech where they claim to fuck everything up.

And the word democracy is never defined. Democracy for whom.

America, like Athens, has democracy for the few and slavery for the many.

Wow I just assumed that guy was a neocon going off his professorship at U of Chicago, and just his (correctly) cynical view of international relations, but his wiki says his preferred candidate in 2020 was Bernie Sanders, and income inequality is in his view the greatest threat to the US.. huh..

If Capitalists weren't fucking idiots they would realize you can't kill the goose that lays the golden eggs or some shit. Maybe "You have to feed your slaves or they'll die and you'll lose your labor pool" is more on the nose.

Yeah, I watched that one too and was struck by the exact same things—a foreign policy that expects (and doesn’t attempt to immediately obliterate) resistance, plus all that goofy jarring shit about exactly the phrase “spreading democracy”

It’s funny that the policy prescription is objectively better, but the goofiness is a little less polished and therefore noticeable. Fucking neocons (I assume)
