Holy shit Ukraine fucking assassinated one of its own negotiators. They claim they have evidence he was leaking information to Russia so they just fucking shot him twice the head.

They could have just thrown him in jail but no they just fucking shot him in the head.

Edit: I wonder if Zelenskyy ordered this or what. It was their equivalent to the secret service. Another possibility I'm thinking of is they did it without Zelenskyy's knowledge as some threat that they'll do the same to him if he tries to surrender.

      They don't fuck around.

For their part, the Ukrainians needed no instruction from the United States to embark on a policy of de-Russification. When Zelenskyy shut down Medvedchuk’s media companies in February 2021, it was viewed as a gift to the newly arrived Biden administration. After 2014, “you’re either with us or against us” became a pronounced feature of Ukrainian politics, and Washington’s encouragement in 2021 made it worse. Autonomy for the Donbas, the formula contained within the February 2015 Minsk-2 Ceasefire Agreement, was considered treasonous by powerful forces in Ukraine. For example, Zelensky was warned by nationalist militia leader Dmytro Yarosh after his election that such an offer would come at the price of his neck. Just a few days ago, the editor of the Kyiv Independent wrote in the New York Times that any concession to Russia over the status of eastern Ukraine would bring about the same fate for Zelenskyy that befell Victor Yanukovych, who was tossed from power in 2014. The United States supported all these steps, looking simultaneously toward bolstering Ukrainian nationalism and blasting the Russophiles.

Their coint is essentially entirely Fascists, so I'm pretty sure they just did it. Heck, the guy could have been trying to leak on Zelenskys orders at this point.

I'm not saying he's under house arrest but...it doesn't look like he's not under house arrest right now. Being swapped between bunkers ever 4 hours is functionally the same

im glad i lived long enough to see white people finally find a war relatable. really shows what they think of everywhere the US has bombed for years: they just ignore it. And now instead of historical analysis of US meddling in Ukraine, they just say PUTIN BAD. It's really fucking pathetic and performative.

mearsheimer is an old school, hard power kind of cracker that's about geopolitical interests. he believes america needs to brutally kick your ass if needed but also equally tread lightly if that preserves interests. this obviously upsets the shit out of modern day libs and white left with their soft tongued human rights and liberalism doublespeak

/r/VolunteersForUkraine: Forming our own squad for Ukraine liberation (locked)

Hey guys, Currently 9 of us from USA and Canada have come together to rapidly deploy to Ukraine to help fend off the atrocities being committed. We have made custom patches to set ourselves apart from unskilled conscripts joining (we are all prior service with combat experience) and have basic equipment issue for an infantryman on the ground sans firearm and ammunition due to transportation restrictions.

Once we arrive we plan to rendezvous and check our equipment, then find a weapon distributor. We have planned for AK-74 load outs and have outfitted our tactical gear to accommodate. Once we receive these we plan to slip off into the night and establish our own off the books outpost. We will then recon and conduct hit-and-run operations on the Ukrainians.

Wish us luck guys, war is hell

I hate how every western analysis of the causes of the war and possible ways to resolve the situation is some version of "how to force Russia into submission". The thought that a lasting peace could include the West not getting everything it wants all the time is simply alien to the westoid mind.

this shit has really shown me that communism is definitely 100% never coming to america.

these fuckers are completely brainwashed. the top posts on reddit are like "ukraine, big balls", "fuck putin", "zelensky so dreamy", "we're so fucking poor and the management is laughing while we're starving, what the fuck can we do?"

    the cognitive dissonance is astounding.

love how when any other invaded country sneezes their baggage is used to manufacture more consent for their invasion, but when the ukrainian state federally hero worships and funds nazis, uses their entire male population as forced conscripts, uses a nuclear plant and noncombatants as hostages and meat shields to try and provoke global thermonuclear war, and literally proclaim to the world they're providing no quarter, they're a heroic organization that can do no wrong

Tbh most Americans have no idea what's really happening there. They only see Ukrainian propaganda. It's also why most people seem to think Ukraine is doing really well and is going to win. If you go by reddit posts, you'd think Ukrainian forces will be in Moscow by next Friday.

Holy shit Ukrainian armed forces, how hard is it to take off the fascist patches for a few minutes?

3k volunteers to Ukraine from amerikkka. What wrong with these peoples?

  • Ezze [hy/hym,they/them]

Seeing stories about Americans volunteering and going to fight in Ukraine more than anything just makes me sad.

Anecdotally, from the CNN story I just watched covering the phenomenon, they spoke to one man in his late 30s or early 40s whose reason for going to Ukraine was that he was unmarried and didn't have any kids. The other person they spoke to was a former Marine and combat veteran who appeared to be already in-country and had four children at home.

This is what alienation does to people. Putting aside the propaganda and other factors, a lot of these people are looking to die but don't want their families or friends to think of them that way.

I wish I could tell these people to not despair, it will be better some day, but I don't know if it will. I just know there are battles that need to be fought here and to not throw your lives away for international capital.

      four children at home

If only he was as motivated to fight climate change. He could even stay home and not get slaughtered.

Relatively speaking, staying home would alone be fighting climate change, in fact. (Though, of course, it would be even better to actively do more....)

Tbh if I was at this stage of my life, and it was 2014 when all this shit kicked off, I'd have gone to the Donbas to fight in a volunteer battalion on the DPR side. I was really intrigued by the idea of it but still felt young and like I had some potential for a normal meaningful life in the US. Now I realize the past 8 years have been a waste but it's basically too late to go over there and make any sort of difference. I'd be more of a hindrance now that Russian forces are backing them formally.
