You could go to jail for USING a VPN to access those sites. It also allows the government to "regulate and shut down" any social media site with more than 1 million users. Meaning that all big social media networks would have to do whatever the government wants, since the govenment has a constant threat of banning their network at their fingertips.

I'm pretty sure is way more harsh than anything China does to their citizens if they go beyond the great fire wall

This actually pisses me off. Mention that the US does what China does but worse with its own great firewall and you get called a "tankie". Then it happens and those same people are shocked and appalled at how the government came to this conclusion of oversight. Americans always talk as if they would have personally fought against the prejudice that existed during the Cold War and every other Xenophobic scare before falling into the current one. Then they deny ever having fallen for it.

The United States is looking increasingly unhinged and only the Europeans worshipping their shitty fast food and entertainment still have this positive image of them.

In communist china, western sites are banned but the government doesn’t even care about VPNs to access them. The US wants to become china but worse

Also wasn’t the US backing off on Maduro for oil? Or did Biden forget? Or did the deal fall off?

The US allowed venezuelan companies to produce and sell oil, they removed the oil sanctions. The problem is that most refineries (these were made using american parts back in the 60's/70's) were broken and lacking parts. It seems the US and Russia both offered the needed money to fix it.

And they all moved away from me on the bench There, and the hairy eyeball and all kinds of mean nasty things, till I Said, "And creating a nuisance." And they all came back, shook my hand, And we had a great time on the bench

The term 'foreign adversary' should be banned from politics. It's a completely subjective term that varies with policymakers. Last I checked, China isn't an enemy of the United States.

Lol, the "security concerns" would be just as easily tackled with increased digital privacy laws, but they don't want to hurt google or facebook's profits.

Yeah and they would actually have reason to care as now not only are you depriving American corporations of their profits but you're engaging in subversion of the American economy to benefit an enemy state. Like if you pirate and use the good Russian sites, you should be freaked the fuck out because they will inevitably go after or just happen to net pirates for using VPNs and throw them in the slammer for serious time as enemies of the state.

this includes the people's republic of china, including the hong kong special administrative region and macao special administrative region

This would include Taiwan, given that the US still technically observes the One China policy.

I really want to see it come up in a court case that someone visited a website hosted in Taiwan via VPN. It would be the funniest judgement thing to have the judge come up with "Taiwan is China" and have it go through to the supreme court who absolutely wouldn't want to judge it that way but also would be under pressure not to create a major international incident.

        Could be fun.

They probably don't need dirt. Virginia is a colossal hub of military procurement and think tanks. Groverhaus :mcmansion: is one of thousands of shitty McMansions which were built from the largesse of the "War on Terror." The state's politics is dominated by the suburban sprawl of Washington. There are very few regions in the country which benefit more from the imperial project. Warner is representative of a class of people who materially benefit from the maintainence of this project.
