If I had to guess he probably thinks Palestine has nukes because they're Muslim and North Korea doesn't have nukes because they can't possibly be smart enough to develop them

I don't watch enough TV but I think 24 was basicaly the same "Muslim terrorist gets a western nuclear bomb" plot repeat for like 4 seasons.

So basically "everyone knows Muslims have nukes because they obviously stole from us." :so-true:

One country in the region did steal nukes from us, but they are not Arabs...

On a milder homophobic tip and not so much "hot" as "extremely old" but I was chatting with a co-worker (26, m) about the physical perils of our job and trying to avoid getting back pain, and I mentioned that yoga is said to be good for that, and he replied enthusiastically and unprompted with "I've heard that...and it's not feminine at all!!"

Literally "fellas is it gay to stretch"

I just had a thought of how to maybe grift a bit with yoga.

All you gotta do is like really fucking ham up the Hindu nationalist machismo, say warriors of India have used yoga to prepare for war for thousands of years, change some of the position names to something manly. Maybe also sell some machismo supplements to make your brain as strong as your muscles will be if you do our warrior yoga program, etc.

It will still be "ethnic" though which is almost as big a no-no as something being feminine. If you really want to sell your grift you've got to make it whiter. Talk about how your totally-not-yoga was developed by cavemen/crusaders/vikings/cowboys and call the positions something stupid like "Bald Eagle Predator" or "Patriot Hammer Xtreme".

Pretty easy if you ask me.

So in India there's this ethnic group called the "Aryans" right? ....

As an aside, it was a revelation to me when I was told that lower back pain can be caused by basically having a weak “core” (like abdominal muscles). One great exercise is called a marching bridge and another is doing simple leg lifts or plank but you gotta squeeze your butt and tuck in your belly button!

Basically muscle pains can be caused by weak muscles especially interconnected weak and strong muscles that are “unbalanced,” so to speak.

Also your core goes all the way around! It's your back too! Deadlifts can help a lot

Also pretty sure by that point we'd seen multiple explicit on-screen sex scenes (including one in the very first episode) and several graphic murders.

There's this serbian chick at my work who believes the population of the world is under 200,000 and the rest are just fictional, bots, made up, only real on paper type thing. She's also into red light therapy and a bunch of other alternative medicine type things even I've never heard of like 'orgone energy' and shit. I don't even know where she hears about this stuff but it makes for great entertainment.

He is also racist against non-whites... but in a different way[he probably thinks they could never take over no matter what].

    Defend the Iraq war.

    As an Australian.

    Who was born in 1998.

WHO WAS DISCHARGED FROM THE AUSTRALIAN ARMED FORCES LAST YEAR FOR FAILING A DRUG TEST.

The defense was that they (Iraq) didn't have WMDs because haha W Bush and america are dumb.

But they could have developed WMDs in the 2010's so it's retroactively justifiable as a pre-emptive strike.

The amount of smug he expressed over Americans and how stupid they are while explaining the dumbest justification for the Iraq War you can come up with. Like dude, the Iraq war succeeded in it's mission statement, make billions for arms manufacturers. It was a masterfully executed example of manufactured consent, the powers in charge weren't stupid, they were greedy and evil. It wasn't bad intel, it was bad faith.

My auntie considers herself pro life because she'd never choose to have an abortion, however she's fine with other women making those choices and thinks it should be legal for them - which is literally a pro choice position but I guess it has other cultural detritus for her.

The most recent offline take I got was someone upset that [nearest city] is becoming more walkable.

"I didn't vote for this." "Why can't we all just drive like normal people?" "Muh taxes (don't ask about how much it costs to maintain highways)".

For once, I stood my ground and politely said "I suppose, but it's no fun being stuck in traffic all day. Driving and traffic is so boring."

I got looked at like I have two heads. As if walkability/public transit was quite literally inconceivable.

Met someone irl that still uses 9gag, won't tell us his real name, only his pseudonym, and believes that the earth is flat and the moon landing is fake.
