That's one of the most offputting parts of Star Wars in general: it's bent into the gravity well of its fandom so much that the ass-end of space is also where more of its events seem to happen compared to other planets.

This one has a pretty reasonable connection.

Zeb is close with Hera, Hera’s close with Ahsoka, Ahsoka knows Grogu+Mando bc Jedi shit.

Oh and Mando knows Bo Katan who knows Ahsoka + Hera + Zeb + Sabine who’s a mandalorian.

This one time, unless they randomly happen upon each other instead of deliberately meeting, this isn’t a case of small galaxy, it’s just a case of “These are shows about this connected group of people”

It makes sense. Zeb knows Bombo. Bombo visited Uyun Poot's Saloon in Legends: Star War X Wing Borb Season 3 Episode 12. (Pause at the 23 minute 11 seconds mark). Guess Who else visited that Saloon? None other than Hupple Swett (in the tie-in novel Admiral Poot and the Gyngul Assault). Yes, THAT Hupple Swett. Remember in Blue Elephant: The Jizz Guy: A Star Wars Story on Disney+, where Sorlac goes to the Qung Moon Station? Who does she fight at the end? Exactly, Ooogon Fetid (the disciple of Hupple Swett in case you're a cueless dweeb). And who had a skippable laser sword fight with Ooogon Fetid in the PS4 game Masters of Thbu Vobb? Dinkle Heinous.

So it makes perfect sense that Zeb shows up in the Bambolorian and Donk Movie

    I-was-saying

Zeb always kinda sucked and his "generic surly tough guy friend who's a grouchy hardass normally but is secretly a gentle giant with a heart of gold" schtick was really tiring and Rex should've just been "the tough guy" member of the Rebels crew from the start, he's a way more interesting and layered character

Rebels should've just been "The Hera & Kanan Show, also Sabine and Rex are there too and Chopper is a gremlin R2D2"

Ezra gets a pretty good development and arc eventually be he's such a damn wiener kid initially and I also always thought Kanan and Hera should've been the protagonists

Also whenever Ashoka's not on the screen, all the other characters should be looking around asking, "Where's Ashoka?"

In conclusion, the galaxy far, far away is a land of contrasts

No thank you, I appreciated how rebels was able to live in it's own world without being a part of the main jedi storyline.

Also it was made for kids, and they much prefer big funny purple monster guy over grouchy soldier from some previous media they've never seen before.

      • LocalOaf [they/them]
        ·

Eh, you have a good point about it being consciously more of a kids' show than TCW was by comparison and I still enjoyed the series for the most part but it's strange to me that they wanted to have their cake and eat it too with Rebels. Funny purple alien guy and wacky robot get into hijinks, but also there's stuff for the superfan grown ups like Maul's arc, or the Darksaber and Mandalorian culture stuff with Sabine, or bringing Thrawn back into canon that I feel like is a bit at odds with intentionally being more kid friendly.

        spoiler

also really don't like the "world between worlds" stuff despite looking cool, I was convinced before Episode IX came out they were gonna use that for some time travel-y explanation for the Emperor's return and I guess they still thought no explanation was better than that? I still have no clue what happened there tbh

Filoni is perpetually stuck in the giddy fanboy mode of soypoint-2 Star Wars enjoyer, which just honestly drives the slop even worse

Star Wars is best when it's basically a generic template to put a story into: Mandalorian season 1 is just a generic gunslinger western with a Star Wars framework, Andor is a generic space heist film, etc

His obsession with the Jedi being the ultimate good and his OC that he definitely has been writing fanfic about long before he became a showrunner is just fucking awful. The only good moment in Ahsoka's character story was her leaving the Jedi order after they fucked her over - everything else sucks
