    I got a better plan:

First you fire all works with an odd SSN

Then you fire all workers with an even SSN

Boom, instant 100% reduction in cost, you can thank me later

This would be the saddest and also funniest thing. Please just fire 75% of the government and see how that works out for you. Let's totally ignore the significant long term damage just firing one tiny section of the government did when all the air traffic controllers were fired decades ago I'm sure this will somehow be different

My prediction for this is that it'll go the way of the UK government and all the capacity they fired will be rehired from private companies that will spring up to provide precisely this service, costing even more, but nominally having less people paid on the federal government's payroll. .

It's remarkable how few people understand that SSNs are not randomly distributed, the first six digits indicate the location where the number was issued. So yes actually, axeing employees based off of the first digit of the SSN can constitute discrimination.

Yeah exactly, really funny that he hasnt thought about this "plan" for more than 5 seconds. iirc they did change the SSN system to be more random a few years ago but I think think the first few digits are still the region of birth

This comes from a very Atlas Shrugged-style view of reality. That all government workers are parasites who literally do not work; they sit around and laugh about how they’re paid to do nothing all day.

really mentally lazy people love completely arbitrary bullshit like this because they think "it makes sense". it's also hilarious to me that they think because they've "come up" with this "system" that "makes sense" then somehow "absolutely nothing will break".

there is not a single thing in existence which you can shrink by half that wont cause something to break lol

Absolutely nothing will break as a result

Has this guy ever worked in any sort of organization before? If you get rid of half the people you will inevitably fire people who maintain critical systems and need to hire them back (often with a massive pay raise), like musk did with Twitter. You will also not change the amount of work to be done, you will just make the remaining half work twice as much. This is like saying you only need one kidney, while technically correct, the other kidney cannot take twice the stress for that long and is very likely to fail. This will cause so much insecurity and burnout that everyone who can leave, will.

He graduated from Harvard University with a bachelor's degree in biology and later earned a degree from Yale Law School. Ramaswamy worked as an investment partner at a hedge fund before founding Roivant Sciences. He also co-founded an investment firm, Strive Asset Management.

        He hasn't.

Unironically this is what Che thought even revolutionaries should do, that being stuck in a “desk” job disconnects you from the work being done so you need to get your hands dirty. The man himself would go and just cut sugarcane in the fields some days.

Its actually really enjoyable to get outside and do some manual labor if its not like so much your bodies being damaged. Its great exercise, and spending time outside and in the dirt and sun is good for your mental health too. It only becomes an issue when your forcing people to do it for long hours with no breaks like capitalism does.

de-esprit-de-corps [Easy - Failure]: Just randomly fire half of all people. This entire organisation is rotten to the core at exactly the lines or every second randomly selected person. From the ashes you will be sure to make your lean, mean, governing machine.
