This isn't just an inevitability. There are people behind this, all to rack up a meaningless score.

Things like this makes me so insanely angry. Kids should be happy and excited at Christmas time, not begging for beds or wheelchairs. Why are we ruled by cold blooded lizards who cannot see this?
We need communism. Communism is the true spirit of Christmas.
you're not crying, i'm crying
and fuck why did doomer wojac make me laugh so hard fuck fuck
you can adopt a letter individually, I'm not sure how a fundraiser would work in that regard, unless we trust a comrade to fulfill letter requests with gifts. However as a chapo outside the US, I would like to kick some money towards this
I don't want to volunteer admins to do more stuff, but we already trust them with money chipped in for server space or whatever is needed to run this place.
Alternately, a thread where people can post what they individually gave would be a good way to get more people to follow along.
Yeah, maybe if mods dont want to organize a formal thing people could just post their receipts or something!
i hate the concept of santa and the whole thing about 'goodness'
i grew up in a very middle-class area and i remember a kid in my class crying when we were about six because we were talking about the gifts we got and most people got bikes and expensive toys and games consoles and stuff and he got crayons (i think) because his mum couldn't afford anything else. and he thought it meant santa didn't love him and he hadn't been good enough
equal state distribution of christmas presents when
This right here is what lies at the bottom of every means tested form of welfare. Children. Children falling through the cracks. Begging a mythical elf for a warm coat to last them through the winter. I'm gonna go on a walk because otherwise I'm going to keep reading these and eventually I'm going to start rage crying.
the first one it randomly pulled up has me crying

I think that's the child writing that/decorating it. I don't think it was the responder.
Holy shit I was not prepared for this.
Dear Santa. I want one thing. I been a good girl and I want to ask you if you please get me a new power wheelchair. My wheelchair is very old and it does not want to work. I am very sad. Please Santa bring me a power wheelchair. I don’t want nothing else. If you can bring my service dog some healthy treats.
Thank you Santa.
I love you.
Vicky

the cost of a single military jet could cover every singe medical item these children are wishing for. A single fucking jet.
Failed states give disabled children functioning wheelchairs challenge 2020.
I'm going to remember this one and only this one for my sanity, goodbye this thread
"Dear Santa, I don't know if you have heard, but Grandma died so Christmas is not going to be the same"
fuckin hell what a gut punch
God damn, this is brutal. Do not read these if you don't want to get real sad and real angry
I think the one's we can see currently are from past years, so hopefully they have been fulfilled already. No doubt there will be some more depressing ones when this year's come in. (I could be wrong on this)
These are really fucking sad. Hell country.

I don’t understand how people can say being selfish and greedy is human nature when there are so many examples of the opposite
It's to uphold capitalism (not always consciously though)
Humans are molded by nature and nurture, and it's not comfortable to face the fact that we've built a system that nurtures greed
it's because *they * are selfish and greedy, so they assume everyone else is
like most conservative beliefs, it starts in projection
jfc so many of these are so depressing. nobody deserves to be fed to the maw of American society. what a fucking cruel existence we have, all so number go up
Being from a middle class family and going past the rows of McMansions that were near our house used to make me jealous. I can't begin to imagine how these kids must feel.
Alright. We should try and do some. If we can at least make some kids happy, I can at least smile some.
I wish I could help everyone. It makes me sad I can't do as much for everyone as I'd like to. Sometimes it gets to me too much and I avoid this kind of stuff because it's all a bit overwhelming and honestly too upsetting to have knowledge of.
