I believe that she is good and uncorrupted, but she does stupid things politically because she thinks she has to, to "get things done in Washington" or whatever. Like Bernie.

Is it really? She just campaigned on challenging Dem power structure from the left.

I don't think anyone expects a US Congresswoman to seize the means of production tomorrow. They just want her to articulate some of their frustration and anger with the Dem party. And she's not doing that. She's doing the same thing Ted Lieu and Adam Schiff do: 80 tweets a day about how shitty Republicans are, and then vague platitudes about how we need healthcare. Then votes for Pelosi and does photo shoots with her. It's very little they're asking of her and she is not even doing that.

There are like 300 Dems in Congress who can rant about Republicans all day while doing nothing to help left causes (even in the very very tiny way that you can do that through Congress). She ran on something different than that which is why she became popular, but she isn't fulfilling that promise.

AOC is what she is: a Democrat whose politics are fundamentally opposed to the class that controls and operates the Democrats. I'm not a dialectics understander, but I feel like AOC is the embodiment of some sort of fundamental contradiction the US left faces, where the urgent need for class politics is only given a national platform by the party most capable of neutralizing class politics and rendering it ineffective.

    What a lib…

It's weird that any positive act by AOC is used to combat from real criticisms.

I'd be (rightfully!) mocked if I brought up Amy Kloubuchar's time on the UAW picket-line to combat criticisms toward her.

AOC is a socdem entirely concerned with the US, thats the real take about her, she soft supports US imperialism in most cases and clearly is not against its hegemony.

If you are an actual socialist you should be internationalist and oppose people like her who sell out the world to offer concessions to the imperial working class.

The only honest reading of AOC's foreign policy is that she has none worth talking about. It's effectively not part of her job description. The president runs the business end of foreign policy almost unilaterally on everything short of an Iraq-scale invasion. AOC has had one term in the House and wasn't even on any foreign policy committees. Votes on this or that foreign policy issue are almost always tied to some domestic program specifically to brow beat anyone who would vote against it.

Any opinion on AOC's foreign policy is just reading tea leaves. It's trying to guess intentions not even based on substantive actions, but on peripheral stuff like a one-off question in an interview. There is zero excuse to interpret that stuff in the worst possible light, and calling for socialists to oppose AOC based on something she has no real influence over is just wrecking. Kindly fuck off with that.

          openly stating

          imperialist social democracy

Really? Show me where she openly said "imperialist social democracy is good." Show me where she openly said anything positive about "imperialism." Or is she not "openly" stating these things, and you're uncharitably reading "imperialism" into comments like "you think Norway has their shit together, well, Norway has universal healthcare"?

The simple explanation here is that (1) she's trying to build support for Medicare for All, and (2) she's associating M4A with countries Americans like to counter narratives like "Obamacare will use death panels to execute grandma." There is no reason to dismiss that straightforward rationale in favor of "AOC is a crypto-imperialist." Again, that's wrecking.

You cant stab someone opposing you in the back, AOC has stated she wants her socialism to be nordic imperialist supporting socdem on so many occasions and backed that up with opposition to demsoc and socialist projects all over the world, but fine if you wanna ritically support Social Democracy in One Country.

This is weak shit and you should be embarrassed for falling for it. We're not getting anything done if we crucify anyone even kind of good over meaningless retail politics bullshit.

We're never going to take any substantial power in this country ever, are we? Next time you go into work, go over to your co worker and call them a member of the imperial working class. Record the reaction for me please.
