Redditors thinking that you get a loadout and go on missions if you volunteer for Ukraine is pretty funny. This is decades of Iraq War propaganda and military video games. How many of them went over there and was like "I'll be a healer" or "I'll be the sniper" and were put on latrine duty.

they think ukrainians will send some random dipshit who doesn't even speak the local language on an important commando mission. American/western exceptionalism

After the air strike I saw some armchair general on r/MissileBaitForUkraine criticizing the Ukrainan commanders. He was saying that they should be sending the foreign volunteers on Long Range Recon Patrol missions or be send small unarmed groups that pretend to just be lost tourists while spying on Russian positions. Said the Ukrainian officers were "squandering their potential" and that the English speaking ukrainan officers must not be the same tactical heros that the media shows.

for those who don't know a LRRP is probably one of the most intense and difficult missions for a soldier to do. You are deep behind enemy lines, hiding/shitting in the woods, no back up, trying to sabotage or collect information then sneaking back to base. For the Bazinga Brigade that would basically be a suicide mission lmao, and the unarmed spy shit is a great way to get tortured in a Siberian black site since you aren't a prisoner of war.

Dude didn't look like a troll, just one of reddit's fine military minds

They'll be treated as liberators. They'll get the best guns and grenades and armored vehicles. They'll go on the important missions to kill Putin. Ukrainian people will stop them in the streets and say "I learned about your heroic Founding Fathers/Winston Churchill in school. You are an inspiration to us! We also fight for freedom!"

Ukraine was handing out rifles to random civilians earlier, so it expecting a weapon isn't that strange tbf.
