Had to shut my liberal professor up today in sociology 101, he kept going on about how wonderful Putin is and that he's doing communism. I said "sir, SIR, I served 2 tours in Afghanistan. I know a thing or two about communism and it's no good. And I quote albert einstein when he said "socialism is when there's no food" end quote". That shut him up real fast. I will NEVER let Ukraine or the USA become communist fascists, mark my words.

Here's a good laugh: British ex-Army soldier/merc goes to war in Ukraine, gets hit with rockets/helicopter fire, runs scared into the woods, gets picked up by Ukraine Territorial Defense who torture him thinking he's a Russian spy, gets released, immediately goes back home to the UK.

my favorite part was where he complained about how fighting a modern army (Russia) was harder than murdering people that can barely fight back (Iraq and Afghanistan). the only thing that could have topped this off is this limey merc :british-maw: getting yeeted.

National Bourgeois that dont hold the legislative or decision making power in China arent the primary contradiction China faces as it tries to built its socialist project, its a secondary one that was and is used to help resolve and navigate the primary contradictions. Imperialism ,US world hegemony and domestic undeveloped productiove and technological forces

Their companies absorb western/foreign capital from investors trying to get rich, and it keeps accumulation out in the open where it can be controlled and monitored instead of underground.

There is less incentive to infiltrate the Communist party to get rich and destroy it from within when they can just go off into their islands or whatever, and in return Chinese national bourgeoisie are protected from competition by Western companies, i.e Baidu and Ali from Google and Facebook.

There are a couple reasons, but there has been alot of theory spilled over this topic. One of the theories is that it is better to have billionaires as an outlet than allows people to blame someone other than the government when stuff goes wrong. This only works if they are not allowed to cultivate cults of personality, which it seems is generally curtailed in China (though I can't tell to what extent as I haven't been there).

Well, for one they don't allow them to do wealth-posting. As well, they don't allow them to self advertise, outside of published interviews (and maybe like a book deal). They get to be a billionaire but their free speech privileges are curtailed. Basically, it's 'Congratulations, you have managed to make yourself an important part of the economy, now you will be treated as such with more scrutiny'. It goes without saying that there are certainly abuses, though its hard to say if there are more or less that the West.

However, in the West the problem is that there are a substantial amount of people who are bazinga brained enough to do this on their own, which there is not much you can do outside of re-education on economic theory and history.

If you are asking how 'we' as in Hexbearians stop this from happening? The horses are outta the barn on that one. Watch, wait, read and counter when people push on the propoganda hard irl.

I don't think it will take that much. Most of the people I know who are like this are PMC liberals (think IT and engineering nerds) who are reddit-brained and while they are substantial in the posting wars, their actual physical presence is limited. Most people I know that actually work for and deal with billionaires (being one of them at one point) do not have such rose-colored lenses on the subject. The problem is that D.C. and most state capitals and economics centers are full of these types of PMC liberals.

The issue is getting these people to actually engage with historical critiques, which can only occur if they want it to occur.

So let me get this straight, Ukraine can stop the war by:

    • Pledging not to join a military bloc that doesn't want them as members
    • Stop trying to rule over areas where the people living there doesn't want to be part of Ukraine.

Exactly what justifies not accepting these terms? Are these two things really worth getting thousands of people killed over?

This is all so obscene and bizarre. Bush murdered at least one million people and he's been completely rehabilitated in just a few years. He went from being the antichrist to giving people warm fuzzies when he shares a werther's original with Michelle Obama. Seeing this massive, massive reaction to a fairly limited military incursion is just... I don't know if kafkaseque is the right word or what, but it feels unreal. How could people care this much about an invasion this limited? They've never cared before. I mean the US and Saudi are literally trying to genocide the Houthis and have been fore years. But no one cares, or even knows there's a war in Yemen.

Like I literally could not believe what I was reading about the complete BS stories just gobbled up by people, the absolute hate for regular Russians (not even against Putin/military/politicians but like genuinely wishing suffering and death to regular russian civilians), completely unsourced or poorly sourced "stories" being blasted by every major outlet and then you find out "oh it all came from just some rumour on twitter".

Their whiteness certainly helps them being perceived as human but whiteness is not enough. Nobody gave a shit about the people of the Donbass, despite them being just as white as Ukrainians.

The extra component that makes westoids so involved this time is that the bad guy making them flee is an official enemy of the state which makes the stenographers of power in mainstream media eager to portray the horrors of war as they instinctively understands how it's helping the geopolitical objectives of the state.

It's extra offensive to those who countries have been invaded in the past, like those in the Middle East or Vietnam or Korea, because this is what a war where civilian casualties are being avoided by the invading force looks like in the modern day and it's received a level of scorn orders of magnitude beyond what those wars received in the western media.

If Russia replicated the US's invasion of Iraq or Vietnam on Ukraine, there would be tens of thousands of people dead already. And yet could the media even be more negative and anti-Russian as it is now? They're already virtually saying that Putin's throne of skulls is being assembled in the middle of Moscow as we speak. Meanwhile, a single American drone strike in Yemen killed the same number of civilians that had been killed in the entire invasion in a week and there was basically nothing on that, because it's just example #849292 of America doing what it usually does.

You don't even have the go through the (very recent) historical record! America, in conjunction with Saudi Arabia, is literally doing an invasion of a nation 2500 miles south of Ukraine as I sit and type this out, and has killed over 150,000 people directly and more than double that indirectly, which is orders of magnitude above that which has been killed in Ukraine, and I can't think of a single fucking person on Reddit, or any bluechecks on Twitter, who give even the slightest fuck about it! Let alone put the Yemen flag in their profile, let alone create an entire propaganda campaign against the US and Saudi Arabia, let alone create a barrage of sanctions unlike anything that has been seen in our lives against them!

Even if you believe that the US's sins are instantly resolved the second it gets out of conflict because now it "knows better" and "won't repeat its mistakes", that still doesn't make the United States better, because they're slaughtering more civilians than Russia is right this very moment and has no plans to stop! It's maddening!

People have been posting on here liberals saying that Russians are gunning down entire towns like the My Lai Massacre, they're literally inventing Russian war crimes to accuse them of because they know deep down that the west's hands are absolutely soaked in blood so should be Russia's too. I have no doubt there's probably been some bad shit Russia has engaged it, maybe on purpose maybe by mistake, I don't know, but compared to america's wars, so far they've been trying to keep death tolls low.

This is the shit that pisses me off so much. If you mention that to people who fucking supported Iraq they will just pretend they cared about civilians or say "but what about THIS outrage, we may not be perfect but when we commit mass rape and murder....." it is the most depraved vile shit.

And with the video stuff, there where videos of Armenian civilians being beheaded during that war a year ago. They have no excuse.
