It's not that he's doing a bad job it's just that everyone is too stupid to see how good of a job he's doing.
:very-intelligent:
If you think things suck right now, u just need to read more articles about how they don't
this is actually how democrats think, party dems are all like this, whether in your local party or nancy pelosi herself
It would be hilarious if by some magical stroke of luck, the democrats some how gained big in the midterms. I would love to see them and "just vote" twitter try to rationalize a Dem majority doing nothing for another 2 years
In theory - what's the largest number they could increase their majority? I think it's five. Let's imagine they have a 55-45 majority and one new senators is Fetterman who said he wants to abolish the filibuster. Even then I don't think they kill the fucking thing. And they do nothing for another two years.
And they can't even pass funding for covid. We get a variant that's completely resistant to vaccines and the US is permafucked and some medical experts say we probably will eventually have at least another million Americans die of covid. The 2024 dem loses would be ginormous in free and fair elections but elections are the opposite of that. The "demogeddon" is arguably the worst loss of a party in any democratic country ever.
I hope Fetterman wins because I do want to see a sitting senator pick up an eat another sitting senator.
I can't shake the nasty feeling that if he wins - when he goes on MSNBC to have his first interview as a senator he already shows he has an advanced case of DC brain and he says "I believe we can reach compromise with our esteemed colleagues on the other side of the aisle..."
NYC Dems failing to pass climate legislation with a supermajority for years, but on a national scale.
i warned you about "nothing will fundamentally change"
i told you dog :i-told-you-dog:
Lol I can't wait until they impeach him for failing to protect the border :meow-popcorn:
Reporter: "Senator Buck Weasel - what is the republican's rationale for impeaching President Biden?"
Senator Buck Weasel: "Rationale? I'm just a country lawyer from Wyoming. But even I could see that when Biden brought in trains, buses, and airplanes filled with illegals to steal our jobs and to vote illegally - it was wrong . Demoncrat President Biden hates 'Merica and he needs to be impeached right pronto. Our rational is that we love America - so we're doin' it."
Biden: Mr. Weasel is lying and completely disregarding our institutions. However, I have much respect for him and wish he finds the light and becomes a good republican like the good old days. I will resign if that’s what it takes
[Biden quote has been editorialized for comprehension]
Biden resigning in the spirit of bipartisanship would be the funniest thing to ever happen.
So, with Chapo's Law, (the funniest and dumbest outcome is the most likely) it's an inevitability.
Then Kamala becomes president, does even less than Biden, while also being less bipartisan with Republicans, because even when occupying the highest office in the land democrats can do no more than performative opposition.
Biden: "And I had some productive talks with Representative X as I like to call him. New guy - never met him before. Ted Cruz introduced us but he left the room very fast. Don't know why. Anyway Representative X is an unusual fella with a very combative in-your-face manner but I feel like we finally reached common gr—" Biden falls over. "My chest. Pain in my chest. Fuck! Pardon my French. Gaaaaggggahpffft!"
Common ground indeed.
I have money on the GOP impeaching Biden on day one then replacing him with Mechahitler. In thi scenario everyone has forgotten that Harris exists.
Neither parties constituents realize that they are getting exactly what they want, but not what they need.
Is it because everything sucks and his policies are deliberately making everyone poorer and spreading a horrible disease on the behalf of wealthy psychopaths?
No it's probly a messaging problem, not enough people know he is doing those things, otherwise his approval would be lower
Maybe he'll end up like Kissinger: his chest caving in and his head sinking.
there's basically four ways for a man to reach the ripe old age of 1000 and they are as follows, presented in the form of the most rational argument, the political compass:
flattening :flattened-bernie: turtling :walking-dead:
gandalfing :chomsky-yes-honey: crumpling into a ball of puss :die-motherfucker:
Damn it's like every critique from the left about Biden being a dogshit presidential candidate were vindicated... just like the same critiques were about Hillary
:harold-manic:
They are manipulating these polls right? I swear he was at 38% before the Ukraine war
Different pollsters have different numbers. But I think for the past few months they've all agreed that Biden's approval rating has been (total) shit.
I've stopped following almost all us politics, I'm much more focused on the Ukrainian conflict, so i have not bothered to look at other polls. But his gotta be doing in the low 30s on most if the cherry picked one has him at the same place as the low end one from months ago.
And Democrats will still gain 2-3 Senate seats and probably gain House seats as well lol.
Whatever happens is always the funniest and most ridiculous outcome so this is definitely a possibility.
The democratic party follows a doddering Biden in the Potomac and drowns to the last liberal.
this bit account gets me every time, it's almost as good as neera tanden
That part isn't a bit. Democrats are out here arresting GOP candidates for governor, and you guys still think things like "public opinion" will make them lose in November lol. The DNC is a lot more competent than we give them credit for, you and I just are not in the club.
Plus the Senate map is just too good for Dems. Democrats are guaranteed to win PA and Wisconsin, they will probably win Ohio against JD Vance, Arizona and Georgia are not even a competition. Nevada is really the only tossup, and frankly even North Carolina and Florida might be sleeper Dem wins.
It's possible given that there will be a huge effort to get DeSantis out of office, which will boost Dem turnout in Florida. Though Rubio is pretty popular, it is still lean GOP imo.
yes, the democrats who lost to donald trump are quite competent
It is realistic.
Which will make them completely failing to do anything with their 55-45 majority or w/e in the Senate even more hilarious and infuriating
JD Vance
We must all bask in awe of the juggernaut that is Tim Ryan.
Literally a high school QB hometown hero vs a dweeb who made his living running away to Yale and mocking everyone he grew up with. Easy bet.
Dude came in thinking he'd be the next LBJ and instead he's going to end up like Martin Van Buren.
Trained as a lawyer, he entered politics as a member of the Democratic-Republican Party
Hey, wait a sec here...
