iirc alcoholism is actually bigger than addiction to painkillers by a lot and is killing a lot of people too but nobody cares because the booze isn't coming from scary foreign countries to target white children. Totally anecdotal but every time I've gone to rehab, alcoholics outnumbered everyone else, but the majority of the focus was only on opioids.

As someone who drinks somewhat regularly, I fully support booze being given the same treatment as tobacco products, if not even harsher. It’s ridiculous how beer and liquor companies can run their shit on the biggest centers of TV and Internet traffic 24/7 without repercussions. (In an ideal world this would be paired with improving conditions that might drive an individual to alcoholism but yeah)

Misread "improving" as "improved" and was intrigued that your ideal world involves pushing more people into alcoholism.

Well, every problem you mentioned other than domestic violence would be solved by no more car dependency.

I watched my mom die from alcoholism. I'm a recovering alcoholic myself. It's not pretty. But marketing, the media, hollywood, culture in general puts a nice twist on that poison. I don't think we should bring back prohibition but I think people should be educated on how dangerous it really can be.

Damn, this was a Qanon-level policy like 1 year ago, now it is already Republican mainstream. They are evolving at a rapid rate.

Anyway here's why Russia invading Ukraine is the biggest crime in history and reason to suspect anyone with slavic heritage of latent barbarism

In "fairness", GOPers by-and-large oppose supporting Ukraine and countering Russia if only because Brandon is in office now, and because Russia is a majority-white, right wing hellstate. It's the libs who are pearl-clutching over the inherent barbarism of the Russian brainpan. Hence why they really push the "DRUMPF is a RUSSIAN IMPLANT" talking point.

Not to say libs wouldn't, at one point or another, try to justify invading Mexico if a Dem-controlled US does it.

A fascist invasion of a country with a long standing bunkered communist army in one of its regions that has been fighting and preparing for a very long time... Where have I heard this happen before?

So we want to start wars in:

    • Iran
    • Taiwan
    • Mexico
    • Russia

    All at the same time.

Sounds like a recipe for success.

Has anyone even been talking about Iran? It's felt like radio silence on the middle east since the US pulled out of Afghanistan

Americans are mad about whatever the government tells them to be mad about, Iran’s not the most relevant state department target these days

They're restarting their nuclear program, so predictably the US and Israel are buttmad. Not sure if it'll amount to anything. :shrug-outta-hecks:
