Note: If they get unbanned in a little bit, it'll be because of our consensus procedure where we unban if an admin disagrees, then take it to a vote. I'm pretty sure tho if it comes to that they'll stay banned.

I'm pretty sure the Voyager dev is doing it on purpose. I know that the app treats lemmy.world as the default instance. I think if you try to sign up on a lemmy instance, the app will first prompt you to specifically sign up on lemmy.world instead of giving you a list of popular lemmy instances.

There is a good argument to make that if you aggressively use certain topics to boot out reactionaries you end up clearing up more serious issues before they happen because they're the same groups of thought and brainworms.

I have observed quite a few women in my life, no matter the age or generation. Thankfully I have not met many Karens, because they are way worse and are basically the same as reactionary rightwing "anti-trans" men – a nuisance and net negative to society. One feminist in college was a horrible creature, and when I was working on self improving myself back then, she told me that my self improving does not matter to anyone. These same "feminists" will talk about positive talk with selective women, but trash all men and even some women they do not "vibe" with. Men on the other hand are calm and avoid drama until there is a need or it becomes impossible, and are usually only chimps when it comes to the gym and when chasing women. Even then, outside of the really extreme incels and Tateists, most men will not talk about trashing women. Men even aid the efforts for equality with women, but women never advocate for men's rights.
Women are known to have hysterical, chaotic traits and are gossipers (in reality and not just media) and most jealous women usually cocbloc their girl friends. It has happened to me. Women are far more biologically wired for emotional needs, whereas men are wired for physical strength traits.

I'm getting the impression here that is the inescapable result of what lemmy.ml has been trying to be and how it positioned itself. By trying to not be too hard on potential libs and chuds (like not clamping down on misogyny, transphobia, etc. hard enough, and stuff like thinking being federated with loli instances is acceptable) because when you care more about growing the platform, you attract a lot of garbage. This kind of garbage can seep into the mod team. If you then have admins who feel like they no have choice but to defend this monstrosity they've created, you're in deep trouble.

If he’s a pedophile, that will be news to me. On first impression without having read it all, he seems to be taking a kernel of truth to absurdities: that the powerful (up to and including the state itself) sometimes use things like CSAM as a cudgel against those they see as their adversaries.

I don't think there is. From what I've been able to tell, it's a bug and is relatively common. There are certain comms and even certain users that are plain invisible, as it seems as if they do not federate correctly (despite the rest of the instance being federated). I have talked about it before, and c/technology isn't the only one like that. We also can't see the lemmy.ml privacy comm from hexbear. And they can't properly see our literature comm. I'm sure there are others, in fact I know there are I just can't remember which atm.

I think we actually are able to do that now? But that's not what this is. This was an issue long before that was a feature. And like I said, it happens with certain users too and there is nothing in the modlog of either instance about them being banned or something. They simply don't exist if you're looking for them from the other instance.
