Hope she can make it back to work. Would be a waste of a gerontocracy if we don't get to see one of them kick it on the house floor

I'd love to see her kick it on the floor. I can imagine MSNBC doing God's work for the dems by creating misdirection, clutching their pearls, and saying...

"This is a sad and unformatted day. A senator has died on the senate floor. And if you like them or not - you should not be making fun of death on social media and in tweets."

"It is a truly sad day when it's clear that Americans will belittle anything or anyone at any time. Even at this tragic time..."

And their outrage continues all the way to the commercial break so they can entirely avoid the "g word".

No one knew what slurs, though, because no one speaks Akkadian, the language of her youth. We just had to infer from her tone.

I want it so bad. I want to see one of them collapse and very obviously shit themselves and see all the other ghouls and goblins hold their noses and move away from the corpse.

I used to be such a nice person. : (

Reminder that at the height of the Soviet gerontocracy, the average age of the Politburo was 70. Biden is 80, Pelosi is 83, and Feinstein is 90. Biden is trying to hold on to power until he's 86.

To be fair, if we're going to talk averages, the average in the US senate is still lower than that at ~65, and life expectancies have gone up. But yeah, US leaders are similarly ancient

The average age in the Senate is massively pushed downwards by freaks like Marco Rubio and other Republicans. Pretty sure that the Senate dems on average are closer to 70 than 45.

Mean, median, and mode. Folks always forget there are three kinds of averages.

Figured it was more a question of removing the outliers rather than using the correct kind of average. Or just changing the sample size until you get the grouping that gives you the funny answer.

As has already been pointed out, the US senate average is still (a little) lower, but anyway for reference Brezhnev was 75 when he died as leader, Andropov died at 69, and Chernenko at 73

Yeah Andropov and Chernenko where not so much old as ailing. Wasn't Chernenko smoking since he was 15?

Although Feinstein’s health continues to deteriorate, sources say that the root cause of this particular incident seems to have been a conveniently placed banana peel. The slip then caused her to trigger an anvil on a nearby shelf which subsequently bonked her on the head and caused a blunt force that turned her teeth into tiny piano keys

Anchor: "Mike, why aren't you in the Senate chamber?"

Reporter: "There was an issue that needed to be addressed."

Anchor: "An issue? What's the status of the vote?"

Reporter: "It's been interrupted by Senator Feinstein's absence."

Anchor: "But diaper changes are done on the Senate floor."

Reporter: "That's true. But the issue was that the senator had a temper tantrum and well... um... There's no easy way to say this - she threw her feces."

      Anchor: "I see."
