Brigading is when people post comments. Because posting goes against the spirit of a *checks notes* web forum. dafoe-horror pearl-clutch

I'm stating the obvious, but it's only brigading because libs don't want to see hexbears in "public spaces". Instead, they're better off segregated into the containment instance.

It doesn’t eve make sense from a practical view. I don’t think ever seen a post here telling someone to brigade an instance. It’s usually someone just posting a dumbass take, it pops up on someone’s feed here, and it gets shared verbatim and they get upset when someone says they’re stupid

I could see an argument for some posts that made it into the dunk tank, but 90% of the time it's just us posting harder.

Awesome how their description of the "auth left" instance is "they're stupid and evil genocide denying idiots" and their description of the "auth right" instance, who are, to be clear, actual fascists, is "ha ha they're just kind of silly and edgy i guess :)"

people in the replies brought up at least two (Turkey and Poland if I recall). There's probably more if I bothered to check

I do remember one of our own posters bringing up an excellent response that was something to the effect of "Honest question but what do you think NATO is? A queer rights organization with guns?"

The urge to spread one’s own “values” by force to “backwards” nations is an imperialist and chauvinist urge that gets used justify imperialist war that actually sets that backwards country back even further (what “backwards” countries really require is peace, stability, development and education not war, instability, destruction and brain drain). Let’s call it the Woke Man’s Burden.

Anytime you start thinking “my country is better on x principle, therefore we should war with an enemy country to spread our ideals” you should definitely consider deeply if you are just being a stooge falling for imperialist intrigue. Lots of western leftists have fallen for this on Syria, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Russia and even Palestine

I know that the British empire has been pulling this shtick for at least 200 years now so it's refreshing to see that it still works among nominal "leftists"

I generally agree but this is lame compared to, like, "orientalism" or even just the original "White Man's Burden" or perhaps "Western Power's Burden".

It’s a specific subset of White Man’s Burden with a synthesis with rainbow imperialism. Radlibs wanting to invade all the “fascists” like Kim Jong Un and Xi Jinping and Putler.

The longer I live, the more I realize the "Libertarian vs Authoritarian" scale is really just "government or not government?" and its not a useful thing to measure.

The only valid political compass format is “who should own all the stuff” on the x axis with “everyone” on the left and “one person” on the right. The y-axis is “how serious are you about that?” with “very serious” at the top and “eh I don’t really care” at the bottom

Sorry folks, they got us. We're not real commies, we're just theory-reading, paper-selling, terminally online mArxIsts.

For real though, can anyone here fluent in lib lingo explain to me why they think they're so smug crossing out "communists" for "Marxists"?

I read it the opposite way, that they think people label themselves as Marxists because the communist label is too bad to be open about, whereas Marxism gives an intellectual flair

I don't think the OP is using "Marxist" as a softer label if they're pairing it with "tankie" though. It seems to me that they're trying to make some kind of implication that the tankies and the marxists aren't real communists, they're just authoritarians with a communist aesthetic?

idk, I'm not fluent enough in brainworms to decode this

Weird how Lemmygrad and us are out of touch with reality, yet most of our views align with the majority of the world.

The same majority that the west has admitted publicly in the media that they’ve failed to court because no one trusts them.

Weird. But it becomes less weird when you remember that “being out of touch” means having opinions while not being a cracker, or agreeing with someone who isn’t a cracker.
