I'm pretty sure the two situations couldn't really be more different. Amphibious landings are a whole can of worms.

Amphibious landings with total air superiority and modern missiles is very different from Normandy.

I'm sure China has a war plan for Taiwan with every single site of military and strategic significance mapped down to the meter. Taiwan isn't big enough to hide a serious air defense network from Chinese surveillance.

An Amphibious invasion of Taiwan would be the largest naval operation in the history of mankind. Taiwan would have years to prepare, and the Chinese would have to sink the entire western naval force that would be sent to stop it on top of executing one of the most complex military movements you can attempt.

They don’t need to land under battle. They can simply blockade the island and destroy any US fleet that comes to relieve them with a massive volley of rockets from the mainland

Then siege them out until they yield

China will simply buy out any strategic Taiwanese industry assets like chip manufacturers. Why spend money on war when you can profit and cuckold the West.

And China going to commit 100% on this, unlike Russia where they kind of half assing

Normandy also wasn't as bad as commonly remembered. The US was given the easy beaches, and they fucked up so badly they had the most casualties. The US military has always historically been incompetent, and it's mainly through insanely high budgets that it manages to do as well as it does.

Lol, reuters. Most of Taiwan soldiers are conscripts, because they’re going to depend on their daddy America to fight 99% of the battle, if not then the army either give up or perform a govt coup since nobody want to die, especially many Taiwanese go to the mainland to work or have business there

Aren't like half the commanders in the Taiwanese army just old KMT cranks? Which is why they have argued very strongly against separatism as a solution.
