I think south and central America gave us Avacado toast. Someone was bemoaning that avacado on bread used to be a cheap healthy breakfast but then white people started eating avacados and the price skyrocketed.
Your hope kind of feels like watching the start of a marathon and hoping the runners will run one more meter. There's nothing morally wrong with hoping that, but you shouldn't be worried about it. Everyone involved is already agreed that this will go on for quite a few meters.
