Reddit is nothing but a propaganda site at this point

Deleted all my accounts awhile ago and occasionally use the app. All i am seeing is Ukraine/Russia posts without any semblance of nuance whatsoever

Hard to wrap my mind around it. And it's disgustingly obvious to anyone who isn't a US nationalist and still affected by russiagate brainwashing

even their takes on China have massively changed as the west has been forced to focus on Russia. At this point I just browse reddit to see where the neocon rulers are setting their eyes on next and secondly as morbid curiosity. Like just how easily malleable are peoples opinions? Sure not too surprising since almost nobody has a material understanding of the world (not to imply that I do have the best understanding haha, just enough of an understanding to not eat up propaganda at least).

Saw a really good take on Twitter and it explains every single person on /r/politics/ the front page of reddit: "The American government has successfully convinced its people that the US is the most moral empire to ever exist"

        It is beyond comprehension, honestly

Yeah and even issues that Americans are divided on, they are only divided along the lines established by the two group of the ruling class (liberals vs conservatives)

This has been the final nail in the coffin for Reddit for me I think, and I’ve been using it since digg. All in all a net positive to quit it, but the blatant bloodthirsty propaganda and Russophobia is getting to me

Same, it's really been a massive eye opener for me - can't even open it anymore.

To be fair I've basically only been perusing it out of habit for the past year or so. Really happy to have Hexbear to replace it for my 15 minutes of scrolling a day

Yeah i was doing it out of habit until like 4 years ago I genuinely couldn’t tell what was real engagement and what was just the algorithm/cia/advertisers, so I made a conscious choice to only use the site for niche interests. But now it’s inescapable. I’m seeing idiotic bloodthirsty redditors talking about how the average Russian is dirty and needs to pay in subreddits about fucking music equipment or small video games

Yep, it's truly painful to see. The sinophobia was what really started me on it, I had the same experience - small niche subs where people just couldn't post anything without somehow sliding in some racist China shit. It's everywhere. Apparently America is just a racist ass culture with the sights swinging around wildly, it's hard to even keep up with who the new target of racist hatred is any given week.

Be nice if we could just lock that hate in on the bougies, then we might get somewhere.

Yeah, it's genuinely been quite shocking to see... there's little coverage of actual stuff on the ground, endless parroting of the American MSM narrative, and a wild bloodlust. I mean, shit. :sadness-abysmal:

Same. It's unfortunately a great resource for answering niche questions and stuff. I guess one could still use it for that without engaging in any kind of community there.

I'm on another BS timeout from the Reddit admins for using yet another metaphor they are too English-illiterate to understand against a homophobe. I'm a little tired of this stupid dance, and teetering on the edge of saying "fuck it".

Anyway, maybe I'll get back to posting U.S./NATO-critical shit and removing/banning for neo-Nazi denial/apologia someday, but we'll see. :-/

I just use that site for gun deals, and the propaganda still seeps into that sub

If you go into the niche subs there's people fighting back against it, but sadly they're all chuds.
