– Russia ceases fire and withdraws – Ukrainian "neutrality" without Nato – Kyiv keeps its army but can't host foreign bases – Russian gets legal status in Ukraine

This is an amazing development that could save thousands of lives - so of course libs on Twitter are mad that they are “capitulating” to Russia

I hope he takes this deal. I also hope it doesn't get him JFK'd.

Really, Finlandization of Ukraine is the obvious compromise between two imperialist nations trying to get you into their sphere of influence.

I worry most that the far right would view him, a jew as a traitor

They certainly will and it will cause civil unrest and factions within the Ukrainian state that are currently smoothed over by the urgent need for defense against Russia. As soon as Russia isn’t a military threat and Zelenskyy proves a “weak traitor” we are going to see some shit go down

Putin did more for the far right in 2 weeks than the CIA did in 8.

Not true whatsoever. Putin was pushed into this corner by the CIA/US imperialists creating massive far right militant buildups on his border. This is entirely CIA top bottom and center.

One of the most powerful men on earth, in control of one of the strongest military forces on earth, had his hand forced. Very plausible.

Do you know what NATO is? Do you know what a knife to the throat is?

Nations don't have throats, only people do. NATO is a force that is good at bullying non-nuclear nations smaller than 20M people or with a GDP less than $250B.

There were at least 2 or 3 responsive options for the Russian state; it's rather dishonest to say that there was only one option.

Alternatively, since apparently we're talking in condescending and loaded non sequiturs now: Do you know what a bully is?

Wow if true this is a really fair deal. Almost like calling every invasion Nazi-like is kinda dumb and misses the geopolitical aims of aggressors.

Just discard the opinion of anyone that seriously thinks Ukraine is winning this conflict.

Even the Bazinga Brigade had some guys posting stuff that would indicate they were getting body-bagged post air raid (the one guy who posted a vid claiming they weren't getting anything close to proper gear, claims of general incompetence, etc).

Someone in the second link is saying ukraine is winning if you look at the war with boxing rules. I don't understand how boxing is similar to an actual war at all, or why people keep comparing this to sports, though i guess to alot of liberals this is nothing but a game to watch for fun, while supporting their "team".

in boxing, if you don't win by KO, submission/forfeit or whatever, you can win by "decision" which is when a simple majority of 3 judges chooses win/lose/draw based on some kind of scorecard system calculated for each round.

the history or victories by decision in boxing is rife with accusations of corruption and bullshit.

If they take this deal, nato will absolutely push azov and other nazis to overthrow Zelensky. No way they will let that fly.

    • eddies [he/him]

They won’t need to if theres any azov left

A possible solution could also be to extradite azov members to Russia, where they would be prosecuted for warcrimes in donbass.

That's not a thing that can or will happen. Who is going to apprehend them? Their buddies in the Ukrainian military? If the Russians could get them, they already would have.

Watch NATO send in some CIA-trained psychos from Latvia or Poland instead. It's not an american millitary base if it flies the latvian flag, even if the weapons all have "made in conneticut" written on them.

Watching some news right now. Absolutely no mention of this deal, just focusing on Zelensky's [belligerent] plea to Congress

I'm surprised that would be the objection. I would think the last point about Russia having legal status in Ukraine would be more of a sticking point. Shows what I know.

Russian gets legal status in Ukraine

with nationalists still having hold over the government, will this stick?

Some of the nationalists speak Russian, I know it was a thing for Azov and Right Sector. Any of the neo nazis in Eastern Ukraine probably speak Russian. It might stick even if they continue to grow in power.

Lmao all the libs who are like "doesn't this reward Putin's aggression??"

shoutout to how succinctly one poster put it:

The problem is Russia has pointed a gun at Ukraine's head, deal or no deal?

No shit this is not a "fair" deal but if Zelensky declines, many more thousands of people will die. If a mugger holds you at gunpoint and demands you give him your wallet, you don't think about how doing so is gonna "reward his criminal act", you give him your wallet because you don't wanna fucking die.

where does US/NATO play in this lib "mugger scenario", the role of US/NATO can't just be ignored in provoking this war.
