Mahershala Ali? that dude owns. i love wesley snipes and everything, but ali is an incredible actor with an extreme range. pretty sure he's going to crush that role.
Or they give him lukewarm slop as a script with green screen settings and CGId action.
ali could take a shit script and be cast as every member of mumford and sons, no makeup/sfx, in a biopic and be filmed entirely on a middle school stage in one take, single camera and people would think it was a documentary with actual found footage.
the movie is probably going to be typical slop, but dollars to donuts ali is going to receive universal acclaim and be described as "mesmerizing" or a "tour de force" in the role and be, at the very least, the only thing right about the movie.

But they are also writing the same way they still write comic books. End Game sealed the deal -- there's no smart ending they're building to, just the beginning of the next serialized story arc. You are free! No need to pay attention anymore.

i've heard a few guy actors say "doing a marvel movie" is basically a way to get paid to get cut--but not being allowed to have any fun with your friends for months at a time to stay cut of course--while also pocketing some stacks, potentially with a recurring role/franchise. it also creates the opportunity to cross genres. like, nobody was going to cast chris pratt from parks and rec as an action guy. now he can be in all the reactionary special ops movies he wants. same with jim from the office.
a lot of actors, even big ones, seem more than happy to do something commercially successful, if not critically acclaimed, so they can take a chance on some indie art house thing down the road, especially if it's something that needs financing. i read this interesting interview with viggo mortensen about how he basically hit the jackpot with the LOTR movies, as it meant he could be very picky and choose a lot of borderline arthouse flicks for the rest of his career. i mean, look at how many huge ass names are in the MCU. i remember when michael douglas got in the mix with ant man, it was like, "this is a gravy train."

Nah, because these movies are how you get to be a big name actor in the first place, and they're steady work that pays well.
Actors will do this slop to get the big bucks and then do more interesting movies when they can/after they get off the ride.
This also means that they'll keep doing the tedious continuity reboot stories from the comics, because it gives them an excuse to have the same characters with new actors, to replace the actors that got famous enough to go do real movies.
Yes the MCU has less room for creativity. When you're writing 1 out of a 100 titles being released per week you have to do do dumb shit to stand out. A hundred million dollar production has to play it as safe as possible.

Only one I've watched since Endgame was Morbius which was strictly for the lulz.
Only thing I watched after Endgame (which I enjoyed as an ending) was Wandavision. That started out pretty interesting but lost me towards the end. I'm not going to watch any of the new stuff, but I'm also not mad they are making more since apparently enough people still like it.

Kang is a time-traveling supervillain, like that's literally all he does is go through time and fuck with shit
The fact that there's going to be a Secret Wars movie so soon after the Fantastic Four means that they're going to do the comic book route and have a whole thing where Kang destabilizes reality with his time traveling gibberish and it starts collapsing
This is gonna be like the Infinity Wars ending where Thanos wins, but with the twist that Kang probably gets beat up, but it's too late to reverse the damage
All seems lost, except oh no, Dr. Doom shows up and manages to save reality by personally manipulating it into a world where he's in charge of everything and becomes a nigh-omnipotent godhead
Secret Wars is gonna be about undoing that and beating Dr. Doom, but whoops, now the universes are all smooshing together

Yeah, if you have any knowledge of the books, the recent Dr. Strange flick pretty much set up the entire incursion story. But if they follow the books, they will have to do a shit load of world building - like, two Reed Richards but one is evil and a kid? Captain Britain, Mr. Sinister, Marvel Zombies... It's all just too much. The 2016 Secret Wars book was average at best - it went on too long and had a really shit ending. The original from the 80's is one of my favourites, where they just all have a massive ruckus, Doom kills God, and they all get home in time for tea.

Fantastic 4 with CIA Jim?? After his performance in doctor Stange 3 everyone was clamoring for more stretchy Jim, I'm glad the fans got this big win

He's a descendant of CIA Jim's time travelling dad from an alternate future timeline. Probably the next cross-movie villain.
The only comic book movie I still look forward to is the Joker sequel, and only because apparently it's going to be a musical.
